The Xbox my kids have had for 8 years is out of date and they want a new Xbox for Christmas.

So I googled Xbox and there's multiple kinds of Xbox's. What is it that they are wanting? Xbox Series X? Xbox Series S?

They play Madden, NBA, some baseball game too.

I suggested an NES so I could show them how good I was at Mario 3 and RBI Baseball but apparently that's not going to cut it.

Thanks.

They most likely want the Series X. It's the top of the line.

The Series S can run all of the next gen games as well though. I don't know all of the differences, probably a slower processor and less storage space.

Don't accidentally get them a Xbox One S. This is different than the Series S.

The price between the 2 is pretty substantial. I have no idea what the difference is except maybe one is smaller

This lays it out pretty well. Looks like mostly the processor, and the X is 4k. The X also has a disc reader if they still want or need to play actual physical discs.

I have the X and what they said above is exactly the difference. If you have digital games on your Xbox Live account, then they will transfer over. Most games are backward compatible if you have the disc. You will def want the X if you are going to play games that take up a lot of memory and are fast acting. Having a good internet and HDMI cable can also make a huge difference.

Is that stuff relevant if they play sports games on there? Or is that just for the war games and other stuff? I really have no idea about this stuff.

Looks like I can get an XBox Series X Console bundle + a $75 gift card at Target for $450. Can use that to buy another controller I suppose.
