With practice starting it will be interesting to see the different style of articles from on3, 24/7 & Husker Rivals

Who will have the Fluff Pieces praising the new coaches thus making the common Husker Fan happy? Who is the first to break out "Team finally looks the part of a B1g Football Program and is the best shape"? Who will be more objective or Gawd Forbid say something negative about Frost or the program. Sipple comes from the newspaper world so I expect nice guy pieces from him. Zach's staff is TBD as they are new to us and hopefully more objective. 24/7 seems to have the best connections to the coaches/program. Every fall there is a player or 2 that becomes a favorite of the beat writers but doesn't live up to the hype. I wonder who it will be this year.

Who would you consider the biggest Suck Up Writer besides Dean because that is just a given that Dean sits atop that Throne?

Outside of Raiola the new coaches bring quite a bit of experience at this level or higher so I hope we at least look like a better coached team this year. Hopefully Frost lets them have input on how practices are run and we get players more reps.

I think the new crew at Rivals is better than the old crew now at ON3. So far at least.

The new crew at Rivals will not have deep connections inside the program like the old crew did/does, but I think the level or writing, reporting and knowledge of the game seems better from the new crew at Rivals. We will see how this unfolds during the season.

I just read both. So far I had been leaning towards keeping On3 and getting rid of the old rivals. However, today IMO old rivals was better. I'll probably end up just keeping both. Honestly, for me all these boards are like herpes. There is no cure.
I am trying to figure out which one to keep. I think Zach has assembled a better group of writers and definitely has the operation looking much more professional than when Dean ran it. Not impressed with Dean's current writer's in the least bit. They are too PC and nice for my liking. I've had plenty of battles with Dean over the years about how he runs his sites plus what has become of his journalistic integrity. Hopefully have time tonight to go through their practice reports to see which sites are more objective and informational.

I agree, but also need to see how the new writers on Rivals evolve. Will they play nice and kiss ass for access? Will they ever get the access or connections that 24/7 and Dean have? Will they be objective? Can they get over the limitations and lack of support that the Rivals Network has?......... Gonna be interesting to see how the 3 sites shake out when it comes to fans renewing. I'm intrigued to see who ends up with the best Board. 24/7 board is the weakest in my opinion. Dean's minions got kinda split between his old board and new board.

I think the new writers/staff at Rivals are just more professional and competent than the group at Rivals. I also like that they seem to have knowledgeable football minds, but aren't Husker Homers, really. That being said, it will be interesting to see how much of the "game" they have to play with the Husker staff to get good, relevant into. IMO it seems that their professionalism will likely be welcome by the Husker staff, but they still need to walk a fine line to not nuke info or inside track info from staff or sources. Will be interesting to see how this unfolds during the season and beyond.

We do have quite a bit of time to decide on the two sites. $1 for a year of ON3 gives that time. It seems more taters are over at ON3 than Rivals, but Rivals still has left over taters too. TPB doesn't really have taters, so this is the best place for real talk without rotten taters spoiling the posts.

I may end up keeping both Rivals and ON3, will definitely remain a paying member here regardless of those two other sites. If I had to pick two right now to keep and jettison one, it would be an easy choice - keep TPB and Rivals and dump ON3. But lots of time to make that decision right now. Also somewhat depends on what ON3 will ask for a monthly membership, but I bet it will be $8 a month or more. Right now I would probably not sign up for that as things stand.

Not sure that the 247 guys have many connections either. They always seemed to be a little behind on stuff unless one of the national or regional guys said something

I can just barely read on3.
It’s borderline terrible.

*** Teddy Prochazka, the projected starting left tackle, wore a black brace on his left knee but moved well.

All linemen wear knee braces.....

***During post-stretch rhythmic clapping, Garrett Nelson, Ty Robinson, and the quarterbacks displayed some vocal leadership. Among the QBs, Matt Masker stuck out. The clapping is something they have done since UCF and is more of a mental/focus test than anything.

During this clapping, they also do 'perfect jumping jacks', today didn't go as smooth with 2 perfect jumping jacks, so they upped the do over to 6 perfect jumping jacks. Something that I haven't seen from Nebraska since SF had arrived. During Mike Riley's tenure they maxed out at 4 perfect jumping jacks. Now there's a nugget you can't live without.

***The guys taking primary reps at center were Ethan Piper and Trent Hixson. Piper had a couple of low snaps while I was watching, but it’s hard to get a full gauge on the good-to-bad snap ratio.

Here's some actual legit insight.

***I think folks understand that Prochazka, Turner Corcoran, and Bryce Benhart are huge humans. When you get on the field level with them, the reality of their size goes to a whole new level. Really underscores the importance of getting all three of them playing at a high and physical level.

This is very true. Those 3 behemoths stood on both sides of me and we talked golf as they said my life sucks because I had to go to work and not golf.

*** I really like Donovan Raiola’s coaching style. Fits into the vocal category with a heavy emphasis on aggressiveness. At one point, he exclaimed, “Take his head off!”

off with his head GIF

Why on Earth would you pay for either of those disasters? I’m confused

The connections and inside info are overrated when you don’t report on it. Callahan wouldn’t tell you shit until it was out anyways. You got more inside info from certain posters before a thread was locked .

At least a couple of the guys came over from Hail Varsity so they should have some access already with those guys. Greg Smith and Steve Marik, Greg was their recruiting guy I've read some of his articles and seen a few of his videos interviewing recruits and he seems pretty good. I've only seen Steve on Twitter so I'm not for sure about him and the rest of the new guys but hopefully it will be a good mix of a couple of guys that have been around a little and some new guys without the bias that the other sites bring. I've said in a different thread that it was too bad that the Insideher guys weren't the ones that went to On3 because On3 seems like it's the better network and from what people are saying about the Insideher team they would have been a better match than Dean & Co.

I started a thread asking why the DE position had been renamed EDGE, and he responded with a very in depth, paragraphs long response about the details of how the position has evolved. He definitely seems legit! I never would've gotten a response like that from the old crew in a million years.

Agreed. The problem with Dean and crew is even if they do have inside information, they never share it until after the fact (if they even had it to begin with) so it doesn't really do us any good anyways.
