Is this company and their customer service the worst ever? Despise everything about them.

For whatever reason, we set them up for internet when we moved. Proceeded to be a 6 month shit show of multiple outages a month, and contacting their customer service would require an hour to speak to someone other than an idiot saying unplug your equipment and power back on. Take multiple days to get anything done, and then magically, it would come back on...like it was their problem in the first place.

Cancel in January, get the package to ship their shit equipment back, send it back the next day....Lo and Behold, these butt darts are trying to charge me $100 for non-return equipment. So I go through the excruciating experience of calling again...They were able to find the tracking number...still in FedEx possession somehow, so they're going to not charge me. But what in the flying fuck. You've got the tracking number....knew where it was, and still tried to charge me. Get the fuck out of here you swindling fucks.

Fast forward to now, different service, local, out the other day, called and left a message as it was after hours. I got a text within 15 minutes that they were on it, and within another 30 minutes, boom, it was on their end, they fixed it, and we should be good to go. Freaking phenomenal.

But if you've got these buttdart windstreams...PSA, switch...they blow.

I mean, they went bankrupt like 3 years ago. No one will buy them so they continue to limp along.

I believe windstream is the company that passed everybody off by building towers in the ROW. Taking advantage of some obscure zoning laws

The whole did you unplug and plug back in your shit really pisses me off. I mean, I get it, some people are clueless and it probably fixes a bunch of people's stuff. But when I call them and tell them I've done this, that, and 3 other things INCLUDING unplug and replug a bunch of times, their first step is always "Ok so I'm going to have you unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in"............ Fucking douchbags. I know they have steps they have to follow, but I'm not my mother-in-law that is completely helpless, I already told you the things I've done to show you I'm not a completely helpless whelp.

They are no longer a thing are they? NextLink bought them. I do some contract work for NextLink that actually involves that acquisition
No idea, I just know I went with them in January and it's been the best internet service/customer service I've ever had.

I have Rise Broadband and had a similar experience awhile back. The internet went out and had to call customer service. Every single person I got transferred to did the same thing....unplug and replug, try this, try that, nope its not working, it should be working but its not, blah blah blah. They sent out a tech and replaced some of the old equipment, including a "new dish". They couldn't get it to work because they said my modem was bad, and they couldn't communicate with it. Ok its a couple of years old, no problem, i'll try a different one. Bought a brand new Nighthawk one that was about $200. Nope, still couldn't communicate, this one must be bad too I was told. Bought another one from a different company (that Rise uses too). Same thing, still can't communicate, this modem is bad too. After 10+ hours dealing with these fucks I said there's NO WAY my old one plus 2 new ones are all bad. Nope, they'll send us one of theirs that will only cost $10/month and it will fix everything. I've now been w/out internet for 2-3 weeks at this point and needed more porn so I agreed. Of course, it comes in the mail and is a total POS and doesn't work. They finally send out a tech again to look at it. Turns out the SIM card in the dish was broken all along. What a bunch of stupid fucks.

Yeah, that shit makes me rage. After about the 3rd time calling windstream, I'd immediately tell the first line to connect me with someone that could actually help and not just unplug the thing.

Kind of like going to the doctor for me. No, I don't need an allergy shot and breathing treatment, I have sharp stabbing pains in my chest, I just don't come into the doctor, my nursing friend said I need a chest x-ray....reluctantly, they do...guess what...pneumonia...well no shit.

Nextlink got in over their head. They bought out our old company (which was a decent company), but they had no service technicians. My internet went out and they told me it would be a month before they could get a tech to my house! When I spoke to the customer service people to cancel my service they asked why and I told them. She was like "well we only have like 1 or 2 technicians in your entire area and they are very busy". I think they were based out of Texas or something like that.

West of Fort Worth. When oil fell a part2 years ago I took a remote job with them on site Acquisiton. Worked there for a year, loved their mission but you’re right, way out over their skis. I leased way too many sites for them to keep up. I got out before it became a nightmare to deal with.

FWIW everybody I know that has NextLink does love it. We used it for the year I works for them and it did work well.

I would have given them a chance, but no way in hell I was waiting a month to get service back. What pisses me off is I guarantee they would have had someone there within a week if I wanted NEW service. They always cater to the new people and don't take care of the current ones.

They must be a Comcast twin. My experience was incredibly familiar, but I did end up staying with them because I bought my own modem and router. Issues cleaned up after that. But yeah, that sucks to deal with.

Kinetic is Best internet provider I’ve personally had. I’ve had Allo at 2 different houses and have always had major issues. I was paying for a gig from them for over a year at my current house. I had 3 different techs come out and give me a different run around story each time. Paying $120 a month for barely creeping past 200mbps is dumb and it constantly buffers.

I switched to kinetic copper 100 mbps for $20 a month about a year ago and I haven’t had to call once and the 100 mbps runs clean.

They need to get their service side figured out. Their new investors are making changes fairly quickly form everything I have heard.
