Why do so many people expect an announcement today?

Why do so many people expect an announcement today?

I tend to agree. I think the main reason people say that is the counterargument, "why wait?"
If Turd really feels strongly that he wants to wait and waiting doesn't have a huge impact as a lot of prep can be done behind the scenes, I think the only reason he might shift off that is if he decides we might lose our candidate if we don't lock him in sooner. Even in that case, we might also have someone we like better we are still working on and obviously announcing closes that door.
Of course, it very well could be we don't have anyone 100% willing to sign right now, which means there can't be an announcement.
Right now it feels like there won't be one today or tomorrow.

I think people just thought there would be an announcement today just based on the fact they just want to get it over with.

I agree that if you think it's Rhule, they you should believe it's highly likely we get an announcement probably today, definitely by tomorrow.
There was a rumor elsewhere that one of the things Rhule didn't like last week was delaying the announcement until after the season. No idea if it is true. If it is, it may suggest he was worried we'd turn elsewhere at the last minute.

Turd felt strongly about keeping Frost for 2022. Turd also feels strongly about making the fanbase suffer through this season as long as possible without giving them a morsel of hope. Only two explanations:
1) Potato
2) He wants to wait as long as possible before announcing Monken and crushing our hearts.

The rumors about A&M also have to give Rhule more leverage. I don't think anyone believes Franklin would go to Auburn - if you look at a 12 team playoff landscape, he has a chance to get there fairly regularly out of the B1G. Probably little chance at Auburn. But if A&M opens, Rhule likely would be a candidate there, and they would consider him more strongly than Auburn would. They would also go after Kiffin, though - IMO.

I agree, plus the boosters got an email about this Sunday didn’t they (supposedly)?
Someone posted that they know someone or are friends with a booster who got an email about something happening Sunday so he had to give up his basketball tickets for today.
I can’t remember what thread that was in, but it was definitely posted here and on this board.
