Why did we let/push Tony White out?

He wasn't Rhules first choice and didn't always do what Rhule wanted. I think there were philosophical differences and probably some spirited disagreements behind the scenes.

But then we hire this Butler clown who just tried to emulate TW’s defense but sucks at it. Things that make you go hmmmmm 🤔🤔🤔

I’m no scheme guru but every big run they had was up the fucking middle. I think if we still had Ty and Nash this was a much different game. Seemed more a personnel issue than coaching in my retarded opinion
If just had a big 320 NT it would make a big difference I think

Maybe Tony got the dog house treatment for AC's and didn't take being blamed for losses in games where the defense held opponents to two scores very well. Especially when the OC and ST coordinator were clearly the real issues and weren't getting the same level of heat. Just a guess.

IDK....it just looked obvious to me from early on that Biff's Butthole Surfers was the better team in all 3 phases.

White did well vs the run most of the time but I'm reminded of the USC game where we couldn't stop their RB counter play that they ran like 500 times. We gave up 6 yds/carry to a 5-5 USC team WITH Nash & Ty.

There's no guarantee we win this with White. White had some stinkers last yr WITH his stud DTs. I have no idea what he'd do this yr with this DL/LBs.

Might have been too many chefs in the kitchen for TWhite. You already had Rhule and Butler and they were going to bring in Phil Snow too. TWhite might have said peace and Pot Roast decided to head out too.

As many have said they should have picked up at least one true DT in the portal.

I'm just as glad we don't play Indiana this year. Rinse and repeat would be what would happen.

Imagine the DL with this sumbitch clogging up the middle -

its not like we don't have talent and athleticism at DL. Nwaneri, Davis, VP, and Pietzrak are all going to be studs. We are just small overall and we don't have a big dawg in the middle to clog things up. Even a 2021 Damien Daniels would help a ton. And it doesn't help that Lendhardt has reached his developmental limit and Jeudy is a transfer portal whiff

Maybe for consistency. They went with Bradden, who could end up being good but he came in late and seems to have been behind ever since. Is it his fault? No, the coaching staff should have done a better job filling the gap knowing he wasn't going to be there until after the Super Bowl.
I didn’t love that hire bc of his lack of recruiting connections and ability to bring talent in right away. It will take years for him to build connections. I bet he is a good coach but not a big boy move hire imo.
