He’s the weirdest mix of boring and engaging

What makes a good coordinator?

“Knowing what the defense thinks you’re going to do and doing something different”

After talking about a laundry list of great QBs he’s been around:

“One thing about guys I’ve seen be successful - pardon my French - but they are pricks. I’ve never seen a successful QB be a nice guy.”

And the one that stuck out the most to me, what do you have to do differently in the B1G to be successful offensively?

“I don’t know, Ryan day runs a pretty good offense, he was a GA for me at UMASS. My son was a GA for Bill OBrien. Kirk is a Pittsburgh guy, known him forever. Paul Chryst coached at Pitt. I had breakfast with Bielema all the time when he was at the Patriots, and we’d talk schemes. Those guys are all pretty good and have been other places too.”

Basically his whole interview is “don’t be a fucking idiot” - god I love coaches from the Northeast

Personally, I am excited by all of this….

I wasn’t all that impressed by his interview… he just kept referencing the fact that he coached Ben Roethlisberger for 3 years

Oh man. I disagree. Brought up his legit connection to every offensive mind in the B1G and beyond. Talking about the turnarounds he’s been involved in since 1979. Chip Kelly, Ryan Day, and others all working under him.

I thought this was a no-BS look at a guy that just wants to coach, and is VERY connected

I thought it was amazing. This guy literally has a tie to like every single HC in CFB today. It's pretty remarkable.

When you’re 65 i would hope you’ve been around the block. Looks like a guy content to make a nice paycheck and then retire to PHX.

Just didn’t seem very engaged, i’ll judge him based on what type of transfer he brings in. He gets Brennan and i’ll be #TeamWhip

Got me fired up when he pointed out the only thing that matters in a QB. Gbr no nice guys
