- If faculty gets involved, I think it may be the end of NU in the B1G.
- Faculty is already knee deep. They want all of the findings from investigations opened up and they called for the stadium pause.
- BiG membership for NU is highly beneficial for the academic mission of NU. They won’t leave the conference voluntarily. Zero chance of that.
- I don't know if it will be as bad as SMU and death penalty in terms of defections leaving them without a team, but it could.
- I hear they made the DCoordinator the interim HC! Forgive me if Im wrong, but if the HC gets fired for hazing issues, shouldnt the rest of the coaching staff be fired also for not keeping the program under control?
- The Big Ten didn’t remove a certain school that had shower molestations of children going on by a former member of its coaching staff who had full access to use university facilities.
- Penn State actually makes the B10 money, not really an Apples to Apples comparison.
- Players are saying that ALL the coaches knew.
- I don’t think this results in NU out of the BIG even if this ends up gutting the program (which will be the intent of a vocal minority). And certainly not for the hazing. Psu and the JoPA cover up is the worst and MSUs harboring of Nasser is worse than NU
- NU fired the Baseball coach for "abusive behavior"
- Two FB recruits just decommited.
- I remember when a President of Northwestern said, he did not care if the football team ever won another
- game.
- That's almost the exact same quote from the University of Chicago President when they left the BT sports arena.
- Have we thought about bringing in Fitzy to replace our current HS coach?
- NU has a big problem, but it isn’t and wasn't Fitz.
- When Fitz becomes available again, IU should make a run at him. The last 2 seasons not withstanding, his body of work up there speaks for itself.
- Schill announced that NU is retaining a consulting firm to review the university’s accountability processes. Also 15 former athletes in multiple sports have aligned with a single law firm.
- NU will not attend BIG Media day in Indy.
- Nebraska
- Played there in ‘19 and ‘22 and we play them there again in ‘24,makes perfect sense.
- Some day they have to come to IU but it is hard to tell when it happens.
- I was thinking of coming to a Nebraska game this year actually. Such a great place to watch a game.
- Good stadium and atmosphere but Lincoln is shit hole campus/town.
- I've never paid for my own drink when bar hopping before the games. Their fans are usually over complimentary of opponents. Campus is nice as well.
- Anyone who’s been there for a game knows it’s a great atmosphere and game day scene.
- I have been there and the fans are generally friendly and the the game day is good as i said, The campus and town not so much IMO but I tend to hold everyone to the Btown standard.
- Not a fan of Lincoln or Omaha, but to each his own.

- IT WASN’T ABOUT HAMBURGERS!
- Ideas for wife/gf for Christmas
- Harbaugh Suspended 4 games
- Colorado re-joining Big 12
- RIP the PAC12
- Outside of Oregon and Washington, there is nothing left in the Pac-12 worth pursuing.
- Would Colorado be a big loss for the PAC 9 or whatever they are called now?
- Ideally the Big either adds Stanford & ND or stands pat and waits for the ACC teams to make their move
- I’m convinced the only reason why posters here want UO and Washington is because they had fun out there during road games.
- F Oregon, hope they get left in a combo pac12/mountain west shitpile
- USC is taking the money and pissing on Cal and Stanford’s ashes.
- So this opens a spot in the PAC 12 for San Diego State then.
- Can they take Nebraska with them?
- SIAP - Toxic and cultish culture with Minnesota football
- Choppin....good…Rowing....bad
Michigan
- OT: please get help with addiction if you need it
- OT: Colorado in discussions to move to Big 12
- I take it as Colorado's never ending quest to be the smallest fish in biggest pond.
- Any chance they’ll take Nebraska, too?
- Deion wants a bigger cowboy hat.
- I have Colorado cousins, and they'd prefer the old rivalries with Nebraska and Oklahoma. Of course, they'd also prefer the days of Kordell Stewart.
- OT: PJ Fleck now under fire for toxic culture
- There are only so many boats to row before HR is gonna step in.
- This is one guy i would love to see roast. He is so full of himself.
- Who would've thought that Fleck had narcissistic tendencies?
- Row row row your boat, gently down the stream... merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, football is but a dream.
- Harbaugh to be suspended 4 games
- Sherrone Moore suspended for a game too. Quite the hammer on UM compared to every other investigation... use air quotes wherever needed.
- If Harbaugh serves a suspension and Warde is still employed next year, the best bet will be on Jim heading to the NFL. Just an FYI
- It is this exact BS that will drive JH back to the NFL more than anything else. What a load of....
- Call it smart. Call it dirty. Whatever.. other schools, ADs, etc... know how to manipulate and get away with things. We either don't or don't want to...

- RYAN DAY SHOULD BE CLEAN-SHAVEN THIS YEAR!
- LOL I’ve thought this same thing as well. Shave it all off, Ryan.
- Same thought here as well lol shave it!
- My old dead superstitious side says cut it off. But let's meet in the middle. Give me goatee Day. With a black 10 gallon hat. Now hat or no hat that's mean looking sumumma
- I don't think anyone really looks good w/ a beard anyway...
- There are two type of people in the world - those who appreciate beards and those who are wrong.
- Brutus likes ducks?
- Yeah the fact that the pic is at Autzen Stadium tells me they're rescheduling the 2020 game.
- I severely doubt that's the way that they would announce Oregon joining the B1G. It's undoubtedly a rescheduling of the game at Autzen that was cancelled in 2020.
- I would love it if Brutus Buckeye scooped Brett McMurphy and all the other journalists on Oregon joining the B1G
- My hope is that Ohio State moves some games around and schedules Oregon next year.
- Hope it's a makeup at Autzen. We owe them a beatdown for 2021.
Penn State
- Oregon to the Big Ten?
- The only thing that will save the PAC12 is fast tracking PITT into the conference
- Colorado returning to the Big 12
- Great now they can play Nebraska, OU and Texas again. Wait a mintue.
- Does anybody bleach their teeth with at-home kits?
- Northwestern lol
- I think they’re on their way to firing sports. I guess the rest of the conference will end up getting a bigger share of the revenue pie minus NW.
- NW is gonna be regulated to University of Chicago status in the BIG10 in about 24 months.
- They're honestly trying to destroy everything like the powers to be here did. It's amazing how people don't learn from the mistakes of others.
- Northwestern and Evanston are very woke. The athletic program will be burned to the ground.
- Northwestern is absolutely handling this poorly...and they'll pay a heavy price in court.
Rutgers
- Colorado About To Defect Back To The Big 12
- Assume uconn comes with them.
- I hope Utah gets the other spot so we can all laugh at UConn losing at the realignment game of musical chairs yet again.
- I'm not sure what the proper joke is, but something like "Colorado enters the transfer portal" seems about right.
- Also this from the Forde article. B10 move? ACC adds UConn instead?
- Nebraska has been rumored to be unhappy in the B1G for a long time. Maybe because they slipped even further from their glory days after joining. I doubt they give up the big bucks of the B1G but I wouldn’t mind if they left to go back to the Big 12 and are replaced with Washington, Oregon, and ultimately ND.
- Why wouldn't the BIG consider adding Colorado? Flagship school, AAU member, Denver market adds the 4th time zone for TV.
- A lot of rumors of Oregon talking to the B12 about accompanying Colorado
- OT: UConn to Big 12 ?
- Can't imagine why Big12 would want UConn. They sacrificed their football program (what was left of it) to prop up basketball. And the Big12 doesn't need help in the basketball department. Just can't see UConn adding value there.
- Gee, why would a school want to leave the Bigeast??
- What is the attraction? The B12 does not need UConn Bball to be a great Bball conference and UConn does not need the B12 to be a great Bball school. The only benefit to the B12 is to get the next best available sports program
- Big 12 wants access to the northeast for exposure and recruiting.
Cockeye
- After watching all the BIG coaches, the last two days, especially the new ones, I was most impressed with Matt Rhule.
- They needed a stable hire and they got one.
- Carolina got better after they fired him. Just sayin.
- I know that, but I just cannot really compare the NFL to the college game. two different animals, really, and success or failure in one arena really does not mean it will be the same in the other arena.
- I have been saying for 20 years now that all Nebraska needs i the right coach, and my biggest fear is that they have found him.
- Not sure I'd label a guy that has bounced around to different college/NFL jobs 5-6 times over the past 12 years as "stable". I doubt he will be there in 4 years...
- He either wins quickly and bounces for a better job or he flames out and hauls ass quickly.
- I think he is a good coach, but here is the key for Nebbie, even with Bo Pelini, they really haven’t played Big 10 level defense in 20 years! Before or since they arrived…
- They were hoping they were going to be able to outs score of the Big Ten but quite frankly that’s really not gonna happen….Everybody has to grind out game sometimes!!
- Sorry, but I find it hard to fear Little Debbie, the official snack cake of the B1G. Remember when Frosty said something similar when he was introduced as head coach?
- I'm quite certain Rhule will do a better job at Nebraska than their previous few coaches. He did a great job building Temple and Baylor. Was one of my top coaches to bet on. Always knew you could expect sound ball from his teams.
- Btw, good Lord what a stable of coaches in the Big Ten
- I'd rather they all suck except for Cockeye so we can win the damn conference for a change, and also, of course, a national championship....
- Nebraska has a population of 1.9 million with a huge expanse of land and many folks just do not aspire to college. They have to import talent to a god forsaken town where grain elevators dominate the town. All this without the promise of a career in oil like Oklahoma hangs out there. Good luck to them.
- Nebber or Cockeye State? Who’s the lesser loser?!?!
- I’ll say Nebber only because they’re in a big boy conference & have sucked ass with real competition!
- This is like asking me whether I'd like to chew broken glass or have my gums scraped.
- Debbie has paid 31 million to fire coaches over the last 18 years so they win the biggest loser award.
- What a dumb bass thread. NEWS FLASH - BOTH beat Cockeye last year. What does that say about Cockeye?
- Last year's results have nothing to do with the long term look at each team. Nebby has taken a big fall over the last 20 years.
Minnesota
- Anonymous Players and Staff make unsubstantiated allegations
- No, they don't. They just loosely used the term "cult" and also the vague term "fraught with intimidation and toxicity" without elaborating further, even though they are anonymous.
- What are the odds Front Office Sports just sent out a general mailer to every former college athlete asking if there were "problems" and then used some generic responses to drum up a nothing-burger of an article? I'd say pretty high, lol.
- This is what, at least the third time this turd of a “story” has been reheated? Guaranteed 90% of the info given to this author came from the same former University employee gunning for Fleck
- Hsu from the Board of Regents is continuing his crusade against MN football, it seems. A majority of the quotes in this article are from him.
- This story isn't going anywhere. They swung and missed. It's a big load of nothing.
- After working for the team in the early years of Fleck.. Do I like him as a person? Not exactly, but he's a good coach, which matters at the end of the day.
Northwestern
- Will Fleck be the first domino to fall next?
- 2 week suspension coming.
- They’ll give him a raise just like Cockeye did with Ferentz. NU is the only school in the Big Ten that would have fired their coach for something like this.
- Are coaches allowed to "make" players run laps or not?
- Players pull out of B1G media days
- Sounds like the only sensible decision we’ve seen in weeks.
- Notice there was no mention of consulting with our great AD on the decision.
- Pat Fitzgerald - 5 years from now
- He will take the Bielema route IMO. I expect to see him named as a “senior defensive assistant” to some NFL team next year.
- After an analyst job on Saban's staff, Fitz will be head coach of Illinois/Indiana/Purdue in 5-10 years and running circles around NU in Evanston.
- It just keeps getting worse
- The future of Northwestern University is in the hands of very poor leadership.
- Because the board is a bloated social club that selects for chumminess and not good decision making.
- They made Fitz the scapegoat and then circled the wagons
- The Case for Coach Fitzgerald being Reinstated
- NU football is screwed regardless in the short to medium term, even if Fitz was reinstated.
- No matter how wrong NU turns out to be in firing Fitz, the University would never reinstate him. That would require the President and Board to acknowledge that they were wrong and threw an innocent guy under the bus to respond to bad press.
Wisconsin
- Jim to Illinois ???!
- FOR ONE YEAR
- "Senior Football Analyst"
- He did some interviews after a football camp in Cross Plains last week and had a pained expression on his face when anyone asked him anything about his future
- Beliema must not have much confidence in first year Defensive Coordinator, Aaron Henry. Ugh. Former Badgers at Illinois. Just GROSS
- He's going to be Senior Analyzing shitty football, that's all I know
- Brutal.
- Hate this
- He played for Bielema so it can’t be surprising.
- There are more Wisconsin players and Coaches on that Illinois team
- Well, when you move on from a young, rising star like Leonhard you have to be prepared to face said coach in the future. I like #2ndChoice and believe he will do very well at UW, but I do not have hard feelings against Leonhard for this move.
- So he apparently has been working there since April, moving on is fine and all that but why be all" taking the year off and getting my hip replaced" then secretly take a job with a rival? I am sorry up front to those it ticks off but it just seems kind of shady.
- If you're ticked off about Leonhard being shady regarding employment practices, you are NOT going to be a fan of our current AD.
- He was very deserving of the UW head coaching job, they picked someone else, which is fine. I'm not going to blame Jim Leonhard for picking any job he thinks is best for him and his family after it didn't work out at UW, nor does he owe any explanation to anyone at UW or UW fans.
- Bulemia likes playing head games. Good move on his part.
- What pissed me off was #2ndChoice offering Leonhard a joint defensive coordinator slot which was a demotion. Insulting. In my view the team would have been better in 2023 had #2ndChoice given up on Mike Tressel and kept JL as the defensive coordinator and maybe given him an assistant head coach title as a sweetener.
- If Day loses to Michigan again this year, #2ndChoice might be in Columbus in 2024. Many people have said that.
- Doesn’t Alabama have like 17 former coaches as analysts on staff?
Colorado
- CU has rejoined the Big 12
- Which Pac-12 (-3) team would you most want to join the Big 12[10] (-2+4+1)?
- Washington because screw Nike U. But UW, UO and Arizona would be the best for the conference.
- Ducks, Dogs, Utes. Those three additions would make the B12 (or whatever it will be called) a decent conference. Otherwise, it's barely a power conference at all.
- Oregon because then it almost assuredly kills the Pac and eliminates the ACC trying to cobble together an expanded conference.
- Dinich reporting B12 ADs met this morning, confirmed 14 as target number.
- AZ will play BB card big time IMO if it’s one. How will Oregon counter?
- How will Oregon counter? By throwing Uncle Phil's sweatshop money around, that's how.
- You go for what gives you the best conference. With one, that is Oregon or Washington. If three more, then Oregon, Washington, and Arizona.
- I put Utah only because they really don't want to deal with BYU in the same conference so watching them have to compete against them is great theater.
- Having the Holy War played every year would be one of the conference's marquis matchups.
- *marquee….Unless you mean a matchup of British douchebags. Bumpkin.
- 2023 Fuckbraska Game
- Looks like they will have the 3-3-5 D.
- 42-17 Buffs
- Nubs will have some growing pains against the run next year, especially in the first part of the season.
- we gonna win.
- They won 4 games last year, any reason to believe they have improved under Rhule?
- I haven't paid attention beyond their downgrade at QB.
