TCU

  • Is this the worst TCU starting QB in last 25 years??
  • How about the moron coordinator that was throwing the ball inside the 10
  • It’s on Briles
  • We should’ve hired Coach Prime
  • Prime will leave Colorado as soon as his sons graduate.
  • He had a year and a half experience when we interviewed him. I did not think we needed to take that chance at the time. If you remember, we had a pretty good year last year.
  • Nebraska (& former GA) player arrest
  • Originally signed with LSU, transferred after a year to Florida, six months later transferred to Georgia, two years later portaled to Nebraska. You would think with all those signing bonuses he collected he could afford to buy booze and vape

USC

  • Caleb staying for 2024 ?!?
  • Well, if he doesn’t want to be drafted by Cards, can SC NIL match last year’s First pick
  • A guaranteed $25M signing bonus makes you forget school pretty easily.
  • IMO, NIL contracts would have to do that kinda number. Otherwise, a romantic story, but not a good choice.
  • What’s this about an illegal player???
  • So Roland-Wallace was supposed to sit outta the first half last week??? MAN IF THIS BITES US SMH
  • Is TCU over rated or is Colorado that good
  • TCU lost 85% of their offensive starters (who were all 25 years old lol) and their star OC. That being said Colorado is a lot better than last year.
  • If they beat Nebraska next week and based on what I saw of the Cornhuskers against Minnesota they will, we are going to have our hands full in Boulder!
  • Colorado has never beaten us. I don't think they will this year either, but it may be their last chance.

Buttgers

  • Any fly over?
  • Has Buttgers forgotten about 9/11
  • A tribute to RutgersAI
  • How do I send a message to a member?
  • Which noon game interests you more?
  • Nebraska at Colorado - Is Colorado legit? Perhaps the biggest week 1 story along with coach Prime hysteria, tested against a known B10 school.
  • Colorado -nebraska for sure .
  • The buffs at -3 is interesting. Seems like the books are begging you to take Colorado.
  • I’ll watch more of the Neb - Col game but will check on Va Tech - Purdoodoo game from time to time. Amid all the Colorado/Deon hype, some forget that Neb/Col was a big time rivalry at one point.
  • I think Nebraska is just not a good team and is going to get smoked.
  • As much as it pains me to say, CU will likely stomp NU into bloody bits…
  • Nebraska and Colorado are rivals historic!
  • They used to be in the same conference and they share some geography.
  • I was watching cfb podcasts that had former Buf players and its still a thing to them.
  • People aren't supposed to wear red on campus this week
  • 10AM start local time. Buffs will have Corn(huskers) for breakfast.
  • This was indeed a good Big 12 rivalry.
  • Personally, I'll never forget the 2001 game on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I was in Vegas with a few buddies, watching the games at Venetian. Nebraska was in the midst of their dominant stretch and undefeated going into this last game of the season, and close to a two TD favorite as I recall, since I bet them and lost a lot. Probably my worst sports betting loss ever. One
  • One of my buddies was a huge Huskers fan too, so he was mortified.
  • 2001 really was more or less the last time Nebraska was in the running for the national championship.
  • Looking forward to Colorado v Nebraska.
  • I’m rooting for Illinois to shut down Kansas simply because I’m just tired of hearing how wonderful Leipold is.
  • Yeah..something is really way off with this…which is why I wouldn’t touch it. I’m not saying Colorado will be as good as they looked Saturday, but I do think Nebraska could really be as bad as they looked.

Penn State

  • Nebraska vs Colorado starts at 10 AM local time.
  • I'm sorry but thst's just insane.
  • Check the ratings for the FOX game last week. It was among the highest all weekend, and pretty sure THE highest of the noon time slot.
  • I think it is silly and FOX should have swapped this game with Cockeye/Cockeye St (which at least is central time zone and they are used to 11 AM starts) but they want to keep the biggest game in the noon slot so...
  • A 10am start is ridiculous. They should have had an eastern game on ant noon and put Colorado vs Nebraska at 3:30pm (1:30 Boulder time).
  • Regardless of the start time, Colorado is going to be a ratings machine this year! It’s amazing to me that in the last year of the PAC12, there is the most excitement in the conference in quite some time
  • The networks would start a game at 4:00 Am if they thought it would draw big ratings. Sadly most schools and conferences would gladly oblige them.
  • Prime is kinda like Howard Stern. Those who dislike him are probably watching a game they typically might not just to see him fail or at least see how it goes.
  • Colorado and Nebraska both desperately need national attention. Are we really pretending a 10 am start is that big of a deal? It's not ideal but when rebuilding you take what you can get?
  • 0T How about Nebraska's bad luck
  • After Osborne they fired Solich who won 74% of his games abd Pelini who won 70%. The ugly truth? Osborne won 83% of his games but would never have matched than in the B1G. Pelini's 70% was a actually very good for B1G. Bad luck or bad karhma?
  • That isn’t bad luck. That is just shitty leadership.
  • It's a lack of patience that leads to a downward spiral. If you fire coaches every few years, your program has no consistency. That usually means taking a step back.
  • They stole a championship from joepa while using some pretty bad characters so who cares
  • I think Pelini is an old school coach that looked very blue collar. the Neb elites no longer wanted that. Rhule is a good coach and will get it turned around but how long will it take?
  • How do you define turning it around for Nebraska? National Championship Contender? Big Championship Contender? Annually 9-3 and play in a good bowl?
  • None of the previous coaches after Osborn competed for any kind of championship. I’d say consistent 9 win seasons
  • I agree with that. Given their location and the other recruiting disadvantages, that probably is the ceiling.
  • Keep in mind that Osborne was a very early adopter of NIL and PED. All those players that went to Nebraska from Southern California and New Jersey came at a price. Anyone who does not think Dr Tom had a serious bag man operation is kidding themselves. And the other part of his success was the flagrant use of PED.
  • I think the consistent 9 wins like Cockeye is what UNL should strive for and be ok with. But they won't. Cockeye seems to recognize their ceiling and they're pretty much ok with that.
  • Matt Rhule is a good hire, although he will exit in 2 years. That’s his style - he has the allegiance of a squirrel to a nut!
  • I just looked it up. Tom Osborne went 49-2 in his last four seasons. Wow!
  • Speaking of openers against non-conference teams, I remember Nebraska dismantled my Nittany Lions 44-6 on August 29, 1983 in New Jersey. That Nebraska team was freaking awesome.

Indianus

  • Nebraska vs Minnesota on now
  • Sims has wheels and is dangerous
  • But he looks pretty one dimensional and that was a terrible call by Ruhle in the red zone
  • TE was wide open
  • Question for you warching the Nebby-Gophers game: Are the defenses just really good or are the offenses just completely aneimic?
  • Sims is the kind of running qb IU could use. Are they that hard to find?
  • I'm a big Ruhle believer. He's going to bring Nebraska back.
  • O line play for UNL hasn’t been good for years, so that’s no surprise. Minnesota, on the other hand, as been really good up front, but they’ve taken a step or two back (at least tonight). They’re also missing two pretty good players in the backfield, too.
  • But can he pass?
  • Ugly passing numbers for him tonight.
  • I think the other Achilles Heel for Nebraska is their defense, which used to be a trademark for them and shut teams down in the past, Theu gave up just crucial plays in that last drive. Not even close to the blackshirts of old.
  • The IA defense may outscore both MN and NE.
  • I’d trade IL and WI for MN and NE on our schedule.
  • All in all, I’d say Sims needs to take care of the ball.
  • He doesn’t seem to see the field well at all which is why Ruhle’s play call I mentioned in the red zone (INT) was such a poor call. Two crucial INTs where he locks onto a receiver but is blind to the help coming across. think Richard Lagow with wheels.
  • He may figure it out but as of right now he looks to be a one trick pony.
  • Sims isnt good at all. Bust. Williams is much better
  • Sims did not play well but the Grant fumble may have been the key play. Up 7 and eating clock.
  • White is a very good DC. They looked very solid defensively.
  • Minnesota got away with something huge on that play.
  • Their left tackle committed a false start on it, and a VERY blatant one at that.
  • And we all had to listen to Gus Johnson scream like a mad man. He’s really awful.
  • Several missed calls in that game including a big downfield PI on Neb late. I also thought Sims scored on the run that was reviewed a play late.

Minnesota

  • It sure feels better winning the first conference game! The mood of fans and players alike sure got lifted with DK's walk-off kick!
  • The Nebby fans had the opposite feeling in the squeaker loss. They are lamenting how many close games they lost.
  • Nebraska got themselves a coach. they will be a tough opponent moving forward.
  • Thursday’s Nebraska-Minnesota college football game averaged a 1.9 rating and 3.49 million viewers on FOX, down 11% in ratings and 1% in viewership from Penn State-Purdoodoo last year (2.1, 3.51M), but still the most-watched game of opening night.
  • It beat the Florida vs Utah matchup
  • Jeff Sims have two years eligibility
  • The Gophers get to face him at Nebraska next season unless he declares for the draft.
  • Nebraska doesn’t have any playmakers at running back, receiver or tight end. Sims is their entire offense.
  • Turnover machine. I hope he’s still there.
  • I don’t want to face him next year with actual weapons in Lincoln.
  • Ain't too worried about him declaring for the draft!
  • Sims has 24 starts. He is a known commodity. Pre-season SI had him 5th best B1G QB. AK at #10. It was our defense led by Tyler Nubin. We held him to 10 points. Rhule did more faster as their coach than I expected. They will win their share of games this year.
  • I think he could have beaten us if they just had him run and only throw short passes /not into traffic.
  • After that pass in the end zone I don’t know why they had him passing late in a game with a lead…
  • They have okay RBs and TEs, but the WRs aren’t scary.
  • Agree that Neb is going to win some games this year. West is going to be a logjam again. I really doubt any West team will be undefeated against all other West teams.
  • I am happy to report that my wife, a Lincoln, NE native and alum of UNL just received her gold tshirt yesterday, and will be participating in the GOLD OUT as a Gopher fan.

Colorado

  • Nebraska Game Week - Prime: “This is personal. That’s the message of the week.”
  • My nebraska friends have gone radio silent and are not making any snarky comments as of yesterday.
  • I do not want to go overboard on pile driving them into the ground, cause while 99% confident, do not need receipts in my face.
  • I said to my Nub friend, "It's hard to win at Nebraska. You've got to give him time. It's not a place like UCF."
  • Ok, so I went hard at Coach Rhule and said I think he is a clown and thinks he is the smartest guy in the room and that 2016 NC Coaches show with Mac2.0 was so annoying that I truly hate Matt Rhule and now with lick lipping and taking a subtle shot at Prime, he is dead to me
  • As for the team, no real player angst, but I just think they are not that talented and with big NIL money, that surprised me.
  • Jeff Sims is not a good thrower and their corners are not as good as they need to defend us.
  • I am not impressed with their corners at all. I don't see a strong corner or safety.
  • Jeff Sims early on is a problem. His speed when he gets to the sideline is impressive. His size is as well. We need to have a permanent spy
  • Their punter has a LEG!
  • TCU plays better coverage than Nebraska and it’s not close.
  • Their running is real. Their strength in the OL is real. Sims depending how healthy can really run
  • CU will need to play a lot of cover 1 and 0 and load the box to stop the run. Nebraska doesn’t have the weapons or QB to consistent beat them in the passing game
  • Nebraska best offensive weapon is also Nebraska worst offensive weapon…It's Jeff Sims
  • Nebraska has run stuffer galore on the DL. I don't see a single EDGE rusher. Not even a specialist.
  • CU has the skill talent to score on every play. If SS2 has time to throw, it will get ugly.
  • They do not have the skill talent to score quickly and will not be able to catch up if they are behind a couple of scores.
  • Think this is a blowout.
  • Load up the box, spy Sims, and then watch him repeatedly throw it to our team
  • We should win this game. If we slow down or stop Sims, it’s going to be a long day for Husker fans. I imagine the CO highway patrol will be out in full force on I-76 to prolong the misery of getting out of CO.
  • If Colorado plays clean and gets up by 17 then it is going to be a very bad day for Nebraska.
  • Just heard that when Ruhle coached at Baylor his teams went 0-11 against top 25 teams. Hmmm...
  • Nebraska's going to want to ball control us to death-so I think jumping on them early is going to make this game that much easier.
  • The National Weather Service in Boulder might have to issue a flood watch because of all the Fusker tears.
  • Offensively, we can name our score. Could Shadildo break his game one record in game two? Probably, because the corn DBs are atrocious.
  • McChesney said this morning that he requested to get a few sideline passes for this weekend. He was denied because there wil be a bunch of A-listers on the sideline. He specifically named Shaq and Lil Wayne.
  • The only difference between the Nubs and Indianus/Buttgers are those national titles they won 30 years ago that nobody cares about now.
  • Rhule has been trying to lower media expectations for weeks and that is going into hyperdrive now calling us a top 10 team that deserves the ranking. He knows what is about to happen. We are going to annihilate them.
  • Colorado has only beaten Nebraska 3 straight times once in the history of the matchup, and that was in the 1950s. Chance at some more history on Saturday.
  • The amount of CU "fans" that I am seeing on social media selling their tickets and asking for top dollar makes me think that it's going to be closer to 50/50 or worse. The more casual CU fans won't pay that but Bugeaters fans will.
  • The speed differences will be stark. Their LB speed is what we used to throw out there. Cannot cover.
  • They will be gambling with blitzes until Shadildo makes them pay, which he will nearly every single time.
  • Point spread wtf?
  • If this game is as close as 3 points, we have nobody in LB and there is no way we beat OSU or Utah.
  • Also please remember that TCU and Nebraska both run the 3-3-5
  • CU could win this game handily while giving up 5+ YPC against NU
  • Rich Eisen: “If Nebraska brings the team that lost to Minnesota, Colorado will beat them back to the Homestead Act!”
  • I'm having a beer with Tyrone Byrd right now (Nebraska starting DB 89-92) and he's undercover pulling for the Buffs Saturday. Even though he's involved with the Nub festivities.
  • I wish Osborne was coaching this weekend just to see his face one more time after getting his butt kicked.
  • It pisses me off that we're not going to be able to keep the red out (or down) for Prime's first home game. It wouldn't surprise me if he calls the fan base out...and we'd deserve it.
  • CU is a nightmare matchup for Nebraska. I don’t think people realize how much better CU’s team speed is than Nebraska’s. Our playmakers will make Nebraska look silly when they get the ball in space, and that will happen early and often.
  • CU wins this game by more than 10 points, and possibly by much more than 10 points. There is a real chance that Nebraska will quit by the start of the 4th quarter.
  • We gonna win. the fuskers suck plague contaminated wuhan lab rat penis.
  • May have been posted but Stephen A Smith, Shannon Sharpe both to be in attendance at the game

🤦‍♂️did he watch the game? TCU was terrible in pass coverage. Nebraska's pass coverage was actually decent
I'm not defending anyone, but how can we compare pass coverages in week 2? We looked great against Minnesota and TCU look like shit to Colorado. Isn't this where the saying is that we're comparing apples to oranges?

Did you guys hear that our DBs are atrocious? Was news to me.
CU fan who said that really has an eye for football.
I mean, it didn't really show during the actual game where Minnesota hit zero deep balls on us, but if you watched carefully in pregame warmups, we had a couple guys slip. This CU fan leaves no stone unturned.

I'm not really comparing. I was just saying that was a dumb statement because TCU's pass coverage was atrocious game one or not if Nebraska's looked like that we'd all be on here bitching.
