- COLLEGE FOOTBALL AND THE PORTAL
- Love it or hate it I think we may see more days with crazy results like we saw yesterday because of the portal. They rich will always be the rich but the portal has given everybody including G5s a little more of a chance. A former CUSA QB just lead Vandy over #1 Alabama.
- We will be a development conference. Why sit on bench for 1-3 years for P4? Instead play at UNLV for 1-3 years increase your NIL money dramatically.
- Unlv football has been on a meteoric rise. We are 2-1 vs p4 teams and the lone loss was in OT. In two short years, we’ve shown we belong at the P4 level.
- National media has been talking a lot about unlv the last two weeks. Lots of eyeballs on unlv, aside from Utah Tech game, we’ve been on national tv for every game.
- We sat next to these guys, and the guy holding the flag was THE most obnoxious guy you'll ever see at a game. Spit on everyone within a 3 seat radius of him. His own Syracuse fan base couldn't stand him. Thanks to these jackasses, this was the most painful game I've ever witnessed.
- There's always 'that' guy. Always. The loud obnoxious 'tough guy' Schnockered on 8 Ultras and 10 jello shots. Everything 'sucks'. Our QB sucks your QB sucks, the refs suck, the play calling sucks, this stadium sucks, the bathrooms suck, coaches suck,. Super aggressive cheering in people's faces.
- Where are their women? Hiding in shame probably.
Alabama
- Moore's Actions at the end of the game...
- Malachi Moore has been a great player for Bama during his career, and up until now a good leader. However, his actions at the end of the game were inexcusable. His little tantrums showed an utter lack of class and were a poor representation of himself and the University. He should have been pulled off the field immediately.
- Moore, you wear a C on your chest because you are a captain - act like it!
- Zero class shown by MM and a supposed leader. IMO, he should be suspended at minimum 1 game. No excuse.
- Who's going to fill his shoes on an already anemic defense? I think he should get some sort of practice in-house punishment, but we can't afford to have him miss a game. We can't afford another loss or there will be no playoffs and the fans will go crazy and the message boards will break the servers!
- He was told to come off the field and refused. There used to be a day he'd be running until the coach puked. But we do gentle parenting now a days so that ain't happening. But it wasnt just the end of the game for him he was acting a donkey the majority of the game. If his mama is as tough as some on here say, she ought to tear his butt up. I'd yank a knot in mine so hard his soul would be present with Jesus.
- I cannot recall an Alabama player being directed to do something like that and just refusing. I felt sorry for the kid they sent out to replace him. Team captain? He is the one who should be stopping younger players from bratty, petulant, immature behavior.
- I'm glad he got angry but that was not the right way to deal with it. I'd favor a half-game suspension except that we really need him on the field. We need all the defensive help we can get. Maybe make him eat beanie wienies next post win team meal?
- He should have been acting like that after the first drive, not when the game is over
- Post Game thoughts
- What an epic embarrassment.
- I turned it off did they tear the goal posts down?
- What's bad is that I live north of Nashville. I will not hear the end of this.
- I still have no idea what the name of the Vanderbilt head coach is.
- Embarrassing loss. Hopefully the team can respond well to this. If not it'll be a long season.
- We’ve given up 67 points in the last 6 quarters.
- Welp. The Nick Saban era is officially over.
- Losing games like this to Vandy will make sure Coach Deboer's stay at Bama a short one..
- Leaving M. Moore on the field after he kicked the ball makes me think this team is run by the players and not the coaches. Plus all the taunting and dancing they do now. Saban would have rip Moore a new one.
- It's been so long Vandy fans have forgotten how to take down a goalpost.
- We beat UGA last week. How in the hell did this happen? We are an 8-4 team right now.
- You can't take over a Nick Saban team and lose to Vanderbilt
- Wommack isn't changing his scheme. Heupel is going to tear him a new one.
- I mean Kirby lost at Home to Vanderbilt his first year. I guess Georgia was stupid in keeping him as their head coach.
- Before you run out and buy the domain www.firekalendeboer.com, let me gently remind you that we went 7-5 in Nick Saban's first year in Tuscaloosa.
- Honestly… all this week has done is reset my opinion before last week in that your best pony in the race is still Georgia because of depth and experience and Texas is a wait and see team.
- Saban was left with Shula's players. DeBoer was left with mostly Saban's players. The comparison is apples to oranges.
- I have a weird question… would anyone trade a win over Georgia for a win over Vandy? This past week we have been non stop praising the staff, team, and direction but now we have many saying get rid of the staff, team, and non potential. To me I would rather Kirby and the doggy fans question how Vandy did what they couldn’t, and for our players to finally get a reality check against Vandy.
- Highest end of year ranking for a team that lost to Vanderbilt?
- Trying to figure this out. Will return when I have a good answer, at least one for the 20th century. According to Chatgtp it's never happened, but I'll see what I can find.
- I'd rather us go 6-6 than let players act like Moore did on Sat. This is supposed to be about representing your school while you are a student. CFB has become NFL lite and I f'ing hate it. NIL and the transfer portal are literally killing the sport.
- Kalen DeBoer is weak
- He shows no emotion. He speaks in empty platitudes. He is soft. This team doesn't know who is in charge.
- This is the correct attitude to have towards CKD until proven otherwise imo. Everything about today's disaster points to a culture problem within the program.
- Malachi Moore sure as hell thinks he's weak. No fear or respect for DeBoer whatsoever.
- I could’ve missed them, but I didn’t see any clips of DeBoer getting after officials, staff, or players. He kind of just stood there like Shula. No emotion that gave off a helpless vibe.
- I don't mind his laid back persona but every single word out of his mouth is generic coach talk, like he's an AI. Has he ever actually said anything of value when asked a football question beyond: Just go play, take it one play at a time, give 110%, etc.
- I don’t think it’s all on DeBoer but he is the guy in charge that can do something about it.
- When you make 12 million a year or whatever it is. Yes, it’s all on you. Deboer better right the ship. Even if it means canning Womack. Heads need to roll as I’m typing.
- Coaches are now making as much as $13,000,000 a year to lead an extracurricular activity.
- We got dominated by Vanderbilt. We never held the lead. We never looked competent. In most businesses when there is a massive failure, people lose jobs. It’s not like we lost to Georgia or TN, we got our asses bent over by a team that has absolutely zero business on the field with us. This is ALL ON COACHING.
- Tell me what are the positives of losing to Vandy? Lololol
- They’re not gonna fire him mid season.
- It’s obvious Womack can’t make in game adjustments. That needs to change or he needs to go… and that’s honestly just the bottom line.
- If there is not a public statement /apology and a Suspension of some sort then I will have some serious concerns for this team
Tennessee
- Coaching Idea to SAVE Tennessee Football
- Add Jon Gruden as a co-head coachalongside Josh Heupel
- High probability Ark loss ended TN chance for final 12
- Looking at TN remaining schedule, the only sure win is probable UTEP. No better than 50% chance on three, and worse than that on...well you know. LOL
- Josh Heupel needs to hand off play calling duties
- 6 quarters in a row of horrible playcalling
- It’s a very different play calling structure than what we saw in 2021 and 2022. I would rather go back to that “gimmick” offense because this hot garbage play calling isn’t working.
- Honestly I can't think of a single offensive coach who I have confidence in.
- If the offense is struggling at UT, I'd want to lay the problem at the feet of the coach who has been known their whole career for their offense and that's Josh Heupel.
- Can someone definitely say with certainty who is actually calling the plays? We have a weird situation here where no one really seems to know.
- Same shiz, different year
- After the lackluster play on offense against Oklahoma and Arkansas I have given up hope on this season and looking towards next.
- From undefeated to the worse 1 loss team in the SEC
- This team is very overrated
- Yeah we need to curb any expectations for a big year... this loss was unexcusable
- This season is over. This team will not accomplish anything meaningful. They don’t have the makeup. It is what it is.
- It’s getting time where we may have to face some hard truths. Heupel isn’t gonna win a championship here. He just isn’t.
- Why am I drinking bourbon from Kentucky when I should be drinking whiskey from Tennessee.
- This was an inexcusable, terrible loss
- I’m over the Nico hype. Maybe he should put his hair on the line. If the Vols lose to another team they’re supposed to beat, he shaves his “pretty” locks. Maybe that would light a fire under him.
Missouri
- Still a Poorly Coached Team
- That’s all there is to it. Had a lot of luck winning one score games last season. The magic is gone. The player leadership is gone.
- All that’s left is Drink looking stupid as frick with his Drinkisms when he trots out performances like this.
- Not just on the field. Attitude. Focus. Adaptability. Fight. I could go on.
- Whatever is wrong with Cook is impacting his running game and throwing......and they keep putting him out there. He under threw multiple open Wrs today.
- He is not good. It’s Pyne Time!
- The front 7 looked unprepared today and there were no adjustments to run fits.
- Pyne should start and play entire game vs umass. The additional reps do nothing for cook. If Pyne has a good game, lights fire under cook and shows coach what backup can do. If he doesn’t, takes some of the pressure off cook and drink. Shows it’s the only option.
- Pinkel always put the back-up qb in to run a few plays to see him in game, Drinkwitz just doesn't believe in that philosophy. It's remarkably arrogant.
- It's his future son in law. He's thinking long term.
- Yes but we had a steady stream of QBs. He was always grooming heir apparent. Brad, chase, gabbert, Franklin, lock. Pretty good run.
- Paying drink 9 mil you can hire any coach for that
- He is a one read QB with an average arm and sub optimal accuracy on anything over 25 yds.
- Its almost like some of our fans try to convince themselves that what they see from him over the last two year isn't who he really is. Some folks are gaslighting themselves.
- He is a serviceable QB on team that can afford to have a serviceable QB. 2024 Mizzou is not that team.
- He’s a backup on an SEC team that shouldn’t see much abuse so when/if he comes in, he can go 100% on destined runs or scramble drills and be good enough to hit a pass or two.
- He’s not a QB of a playoff team. He was a liability in a lot of games last year masked by the D clutch stands and Shredder and Drink will throw the rest of this season away trying to gaslight the fans into thinking he’s smarter.
- You can't win the SEC with a Chaminade QB..sorry
- I’ve never gotten off the Fire Drinkwitz train and yesterday only strengthened my resolve. CFB is in a different era thanks to the portal and NIL. Go find a coach who is strong minded and knows what the hell he’s doing on gameday.
- If I heard Drinkwitz correctly, when asked if he considered changing QB's his response was "Why?". This goes way past having your player's back. It's arrogance at a high level.
- Arrogant douchebag. Amazing that he still hasn’t felt humbled yet in his personnel decisions.
- We looked terribly coached in every facet. Just pathetic.
- As my long-gone Grandpa would say: "It's enough to make a sow eat her pigs."
Louisville
- The natives are getting restless…..
- We’re almost ready for the “fire Brohm” thread to start. I’ve never seen a fan base turn ugly so fast as on this board.
- Every coach can’t be Saban.
- Who likes losing? Fans vent after losses. That's human nature. Not sure people are wanting heads, but JB said it yesterday...it's on him. I for one appreciate him accepting responsibility.
- I am hoping Jeff “gets it fixed”. However, his history says “defense is optional” and head scratcher losses to go with upset wins.
- I agree, no one is talking about firing Jeff YET.
- Count me in as a native getting restless but maybe not Chicken Little... yet.
- This athletic program will sink or swim with Brohm. We have no money for anything worthwhile, and we have no choice in a football coach...
- I think fans will be even more impatient in this new era.
- 3-5 in last 8, and barely beat GT at that.
- Disorganized and dispassionate
- The coaching has been horrendous. Terrible job by Brohm and English.
Indianus
- Nebraska @ Noon on Fox?
- Gotta assume Big Noon will be too.
- Yeah, one would certainly surmise that to be the case. Wouldn't that be something if both Big Noon and College GameDay were both in Bloomington for the game?
- They’re in Texas or Knoxville
- Big Noon would be a big first step. Hope that happens.
- Gameday is obviously many levels bigger, and more symbolic than Big Noon is. I would say our best chance for Gameday is Washington game.
- I despise noon starts. Traffic will be hell unless you get up way early and go in at 7:30
- Big Noon Kickoff is the short bus of pregame shows.
- Lets goooo!!!! Great step for our program. Put on a good show Bloomington!
- What does that make the BTN Tailgate show? I've called it the Temu College Gameday. But I didn't even really remember that Big Noon Kickoff existed
- Big noon has some big name guys on it...Urban Meyer, Tom Rinaldi, Matt Leinert, Brady Quinn and Mark Ingram are on it.
- I think Nebraska has a shot at being ranked when we play.
- They’re at #27 now and, of course, it will depend how teams in front of them fare this weekend. *Edit: after a little research, it will be more difficult than I initially thought. #s 25 & 24 have a bye this week, too. #23 (Illinois) hosts PU, #22 (Pitt) hosts California, and #21 (Missouri) is at 1-5 UMass.
- Regardless, let’s beat beat the Huskers, giving us more time to celebrate afterwards.

- McNamara Remains the Starter Despite Turnovers, Lack of Production
- KF is sticking with McNamara -- despite Brendan Sullivan's success in limited snaps and all of McNamara's issues to start the year.
- He stuck with the turnover machine last year. Kirk is stubborn like that.
- It's like if he makes a switch he is somehow admitting he was wrong to start with. If that's his thinking, what a convoluted thought process.
- I remember in fall camp it was 1A and 1B....what the eff has McNamara done positively since the Illinois State game?
- At this point I hope Cockeye gets their a$$ kicked from here on out. If it takes a complete implosion to move the needle to change then so be it! There I said it
- If Kirk was in charge of the DNC, Biden would still be your candidate...
- Standard Kirk , Makes My belief He promised Cade QB1 and will sink the team before breaking His word. Cade is washed , No other Coach in America would not have given Sullivan a start by now . It is time for a HC change
- Water is wet. Fire is hot. KF picks a QB1 and sticks with him no matter what.
- Just beat Nebraska. That's all I really care about at this point. But they probably won't. Everyone else can pull Kirk's pants down for all I care.
- EACH YEAR WE FIELD AN OFFENSE THAT IS AN EMBARRASSING BAG OF SHIT. TV OFF!
USC
- Lincoln Riley says Big Ten admits overturning call on game-winning TD without indisputable evidence
- Big 10 Refs
- Officially worse than pac12
- That game was not on the refs. We sucked.
- I don't know, but we certainly do NOT seem to get any breaks from the refs. Remember the ref who didn't call face mask TWICE when it was committed right in front of him?
- We got the call that gave them the 4th down near the goal line . Fleck went for it and got the TD.
- Called this when we joined this ******* league … unfortunately not good enough to overcome this one sided BS favor the original Big 10 stiffs officiating (Nebby opponents had ZERO holding calls for the Huskers first 5 years in the league)
- Well, some of those B1G refs are former Pac refs, so what else is new?
- They are corrupt, to the core. They will always protect the Big 2 and the little 8.
Illinois
- Week 6 Games
- Nebraska against Buttgers (though this one is dicey since Buttgers is receiving votes so I would understand a Buttgers rooting preference to go for a ranked match up later this year)
- Really interested in Buttgers at Nebby...
- So KU, Nebby, and now PSU have played bad football since taking on Illinois. lol
- Tired narrative. Nebraska looks very solid against Buttgers (and looked bad in first road game against Purdoodoo for a half but still won comfortably).
- USC does not look B1G good. Minnesota is running down their throats.
- Welcome to the Big Ten USC. Two conference losses already.
Buttgers
- Nebraska game thoughts
- Offensively I think we out schemed ourselves. We are very, very predictable right now.
- Nebraska had our number with their defensive matchups.
- My thoughts on Nebraska: their refs are very effective, in fact, they're a game changer....
- The Nebraska defense did a very good job. I didn't see a lot of opportunities for AK to have success.
- The A gaps were completely taken away by their interior linemen. Crossing routes were eliminated because of their match up zones. We had to attack the edges, and they gave us the edges.
- C and D gaps were gone as well. Neb DE made our right tackle look silly in space.
- I don't think we'll face another defense like Nebraska all season.
- I’m not taking anything away from Nebraska but Buttgers had 9 opportunities to win this game and the proof is there
- Panicking about a 1 TD conference road loss? Really?
- Nebraska isn't a bad team, and but for the inexplicable TD they didn't call, we at the minimum go into OT.
- Coach Schiano has lost to Nebraska by a total of 15 points in three games ! Nebraska may not be Big 8 /Big 12 Nebraska, but losing by that few points to a program like theirs is nothing to hang your head over.
- I thought we might beat Nebraska but maybe home court does make a difference.
- We have lost 6 in row to Nebraska since joining the B1G.The last 3 losses were by 7 points, 1 point, and 7 points.
- These were not against top notch Nebraska teams. And the way we lost … inexcusable play calling, mistakes, mental errors, etc. is hard to accept. Enough already we need to win!
- For the love of All F—k, We are 4-1 and lost a 1 score game to a team favored pretty much for that score.
- Nebraska has a good defense, a terrible special teams unit and a ok offense. Their QB was getting a lot of love, not all of it justified.
- Nebraska is breathing a sigh of relief after stealing that win.
- This was a loss in 95* heat in a windy stadium in front of 80,000 hostile Nebraska fans. Not to mention refs who don’t know where the goal line is.
- Could it not be said that Nebraska had a few things go its way...namely officiating?
- Despite having said 5 star QB, they only scored 14 points, and were a dropped TD pass, several curious playcalls, and a bungled call on Monongai's TD run away from losing the game outright.
- We gave it away, and I posted that on the Nebraska message board..Got all kinds of shat for it… F them.
- Just like Washington handed us a game they dominated in every way except on the scoreboard. We’re fortunate to be 1-1 in these two games.
- Our D was terrible all season until the second half of the Nebraska game. Our offense is why we won the first 4 games. There was nothing wrong with our offense until the Nebraska game. it did not look bad against Washington.
- Nebraska had far less adversity to overcome. They were home with a healthy QB. Their kicking team is historically awful but kicking was impossible for everyone on this given day
