Rhule's effort to get into Texas heavily has me thinking that if we start winning again we will get to read a lot of "Nebraska re-established Texas which undid why are they got terrible when they switched conferences". But anyone with a functional brain knows that Nebraska started sucking because we started hiring bad coaches.

So what else in the wide world of sports, are the other absolutely donkey brained takes that lots of people agree with?

Only time the Texas pipeline existed was Bo’s first 2 years, thanks to Beck & they hauled in 18 guys. Big 12 dipshits try to feel better about being trash by acting like all of Nebraska’s success came from Texas, even tho we shared a conference with that state from 1996-2010

The whole landscape of college football also changed. We were never going to keep the 70s-90s dominance going. We really didn’t start sucking until after Pelini. If Rhule does similar to Pelini, most Husker fans will be happy with that since Rhule comes off as likable.

I might get some fire here, but I hate the idea of "complimentary football." Play to your strengths? Absolutely. But some act like teams with bad defenses should avoid 3-play touchdown drives and scoring 50 per game and that's just dumb.

The best way to help your defense is scoring touchdowns. Give me touchdowns over t.o.p. any day!

I'll also take TDs over time of possession.

But if you lack depth on defense and your offense doesn't eat some clock then your defense isn't going to be effective at the end of the game. Pairing a quick strike offense with a bend don't break defense leads to defensive breakdowns late in the game.

Yards per game is a significant stat.

With the drastic difference between like a Wisconsin and an Indianus - per game stats are absolutely worthless as an indicator of offense or defense.

Points per drive, yards per play, 1st, 2nd and 3rd down efficiency stats are all much better indicators yet the vast majority of football fans and media still use the per game stats. Drives me absofuckinglutely crazy.

The idea of a bend but don't break defense is kind of bullshit in the first place. It's admitting that your defense can't stop anyone so you're basing the whole philosophy on the other team screwing up.

That's not going to work against modern spread offenses where every team can complete the short high percentage throws.

Unless it's Scott Frost and Nebraska.
