I am left on a Saturday night thinking about what the other team was able to accomplish. At the same time I am left wondering with Nebraska, is it talent? Coaching? Mentality? Circumstances?

It would be fun again for one season to wind down and be joyful about what the Huskers accomplished.

I thought Rhule was the guy. He’s probably not.

I’m tired.

I was legitimately MAD today, I truly wonder how many players on the team are going to commit to doing something about it.

It’s been 5-6 years Ty/Hartzog/Benhardt/RB’S/ every fucking white walk on that loves to talk on chasing 3.

When are the people in that building going to fucking say ENOUGH.

It’s past fucking time. Win a goddamn game that matters or get the fuck out of the program.

It’s not fucking good enough.

Well coached teams don’t lose by almost 50 after a bye week.

See, I don’t think you can make blanket statements like this - most people would say TCU’s title game team was very well coached and they lost by 58 in the national championship game after plenty of time off.

Jury is out, but people on here are way too reactionary whether we are winning or losing.

Okay. There’s one example.

We are 5-2 btw
In a vacuum, 5-2 wouldn't sound bad at all. But when you look closer and realize that we likely don't have a winnable game left on the schedule and take into account how absolutely awful we have looked even in games we've won, there's plenty of reason to panic. 5-7 would be a colossal failure and 6-6 wouldn't feel much better.

And TCU was playing a badass Georgia team. Indianus is a solid team, but they aren’t great.

2013 no 3 Clemson vs no 5 Florida St. 14-51.
Do you think the Dabo teams of the mid 2010’s were “well coached?”
I don’t believe that these random examples are quite apples to apples to NU’s situation. In each example, the losing team was coming off of a high degree of season long success. Outside of the first half of the Colorado game, NU has struggled and stalled every week.

There are significant problems with Rhule’s program and although no one (should have) expected a 12 win season, they have not progressed in year two despite having better talent than year one.

Based upon NU current situation 6 wins is an ‘if’, that would not be applicable to 2013 Clemson or any other example out there.

It’s all relative, and the point was whether a well coached team can lose by 50 - Nebraska isn’t a national title game team and TCU was that year

I agree with almost all of your post. I don’t think it’s apples to apples.
But people are on this board making dramatic one line statements like “well coached teams don’t get embarrassed in prime time.” But they do. I just gave an example of a well coached team that lost 51-14 in a prime time game with the nation watching.

The more applicable historical reference is 2018 Baylor (Rhules second year) losing big against OU and WVU that year. That’s not to say Nebraska will turn out just as well as Baylor. Past performance is no guarantee of future returns. But there’s some hope at least.

5-7 would absolutely be a colossal failure. And 6-6 while shitty would still be an achievement this program hasn’t had since 2016.

You can’t sit here with a straight face and say there isn’t a winnable game left on the schedule. That just blatantly not true. Nebraska is going to beat UCLAbia in 2 weeks to become bowl eligible. If we lose that game I’ll join people in the freak out club. Until then I’m going to chalk up last week and this week as two losses on the road to top 10 teams and move on while fully recognizing there are things that should/will be addressed in the offseason to make us better going forwards.

At this stage in Rhule’s tenure, I would be satisfied if the team looked ugly in winning the games it should win while losing one it shouldn’t (Illinois) & winning one it shouldn’t (USC?).

If NU gets drilled two weeks in a row and then follows that up with wins again UCLAbia & USC, then all is not lost in terms of both culture and recruiting.

My most optimistic confidence of seeing that play out? 2 out of 10.
