I think there are three changes that need to be made at this point. The results are terrible considering the great defensive effort of the team through the games so far. And since those results are bad and the seniors on the team don't deserve some of these losses here are some changes that need to happen this week.

1: Culp needs to be relieved of his kicking duties. Nice guy from all accounts. Did well for us LAST YEAR. Bottom line is that he has cost us 3 games THIS YEAR. The guys busting their ass and risking injury and future NFL careers deserve a kicker that is on a college level. Missing extra points in multiple games and makeable FGs is Class B high school football. We have given Culp chance after chance after chance, we no longer owe him anything. We have two weeks to work the next guy into the position and get his mind prepared to be the man.

2: Martinez needs to be relieved of his starting duties. Nice guy from all accounts. Did well for us his FRESHMAN YEAR. Bottom line he has cost us multiple games SINCE HIS FRESHMAN YEAR. We have seen all we are going to see from Adrian. He just does the same crap over and over again despite being a 4 year starter. He has had numerous chances to lead the team on a 4th quarter drive to either ice the game or take the lead and give us a win. We all know what happens in those cases. He simply is not a winner. And it is too late to change that reality. Even if he were to lead us down the field for a win, lets say against Wisconsin this year....it wouldn't make him a great QB.....it would make him 1 for 20 in those situations. So give the job to Logan Smothers over that last 4 games. We can treat it like a tryout for next year. If he does well then he hits spring as the man and we'll see how next year goes. If he does bad then we hit the transfer portal hard for a QB. (Probably going to need to do this for depth anyway) We have two weeks to get him ready for Purdue. There is absolutely nothing to lose with this change.

If 1 and 2 don't happen Monday then in my humble opinion........

3: Frost needs to be relieved of his head coaching duties. His inability to make the necessary (and obvious) changes needs to be his downfall. His coaching has been sub-par. His personnel decisions are mind numbing. He has plugged his favorites into positions that they weren't ready for and left talent on the sideline wondering if they will play. He gives substantial roles and playing time to walkons in crucial moments of games for reasons that can't be understood. He has embarrassed us off the field with lots of nonsense including the OU scheduling debacle, clap gate and whatever is going on in his personal life. But the final stake through the heart of the season will be sticking with the two guys mentioned above. If he does that then I think Turd has no other choice but to fire him. Do it now and we have two weeks before Purdue and still over a month until early signing day. Oh yeah, add recruiting and player retention to his list of fireable offenses. This class is going to be pathetic based on past standards and don't tell me it is a "small class" we are being out recruited for quantity and quality by schools like WVU, Maryland and Rutgers. That cant happen at Nebraska.

I have a feeling that Turd will give him one more year regardless and that is a mistake IMO. We won't see some miraculous change next year. He won't suddenly realize that you don't line up in the shotgun on 4th and one inch. He won't think it's wrong to take a small town TE and make him your starting center despite exactly zero experience in that position. He won't stop sending Wyatt Liewer and Brody Belt out there while players like Manning and Betts sit and drink powerade on the sideline. And his top priority will probably be to bring back Adrian which will kill next season too or is there someone still out there that believes that Adrian would be totally different in a 5th year? I understand that we will have to pay Frost to leave but if we bring him back then we are paying him to make all of these same mistakes next year too.

If he's retained he needes to fire Austin, Held and Verduzco. My only issue is what kind of assistant coach will want to come here knowing it's only for one year?
That's why Frost will get two years. Especially if he brings in a new offensive side of his staff.

You're going to have to overpay but frost being "close" (only on paper not in reality) could help the perception among potential assistants that they could make a difference and it's a longer term gig. Most will still probably take the money and the Nebraska "name" on their resume even if it's for a year, particularly if you're fishing in the Cincinnati, BYU, Coastal Carolina level pond of competent assistants without resources to pay them.

Let’s call it what it is, is Frost is retained in 2022, it’s basically a reset with a new AD for 2 more years to evaluate for improvement

If Frost is retained I’m sure Turd has benchmarks for him to meet in 2022 and if he doesn’t he is fired.

The thing about retaining him is that he needs to show us that he is willing to change some things. Obviously he will need to change some assistants but all that comes later. What about right now? What about the seniors that won't be here for the changes and that these last 4 games might be the last ones they ever play? Doesn't he owe them a chance at a win or two? Doesn't he have to at least look like he is trying to get a win or two?

Sitting Culp would be the easiest thing ever. Who is going to complain? Who would think it's the wrong move? His teammates have to hate him at this point. Yes, I know some will give the proper quotes to the newspapers but everyone knows that Culp has to be persona non grata on campus.

And I'll go a step further....he doesn't risk criticism for benching Culp.....he actually risks criticism for continuing to play him. Don't players start to wonder if Frost cares at all if he keeps rolling the same dudes out there to embarrass the team? Same goes for Adrian to some extent. Lincoln Riley benched a Heisman hopeful and he might have saved their season. Adrian has been benched before as well. Seriously is anyone going to say that Adrian or Culp didn't get enough chances? If Frost can't bring himself to try something new then Turd needs to be the one to try something new because 4 years of terrible QB play in critical moments and 4 years of terrible special teams is way over the limit of acceptable chances.

Yeah in the immediate future, for sure find a replacement for Culp. If/when we’re eliminated from a bowl game, basically give Smothers the reins for whatever is left. I thought if the season continued the way it looked like it would after Michigan and we were that close to turning the corner, I thought Adrian would come back for one last ride. If this is what the rest of this will look like? Give the reins to Smothers, honor Adrian at senior day, and let bygones be bygones. Just me but I’ll take Adrian until the season is for sure worthless

I’m perfectly fine with that. That’s been the issue the last 4 years. Progress is different things to different people. There hasn’t been set guidelines
