While I agree with the sentiment that we don’t really want idiots tweeting at recruits, but to crap on Taylor for trying to be a leader is trash IMO. These guys are morons IMO

They are very hard to listen to. I enjoy some of their guests like Severe. Other than that turn the channel.

I quite like Schaefer in the morning. He is a no BS, guy on the current state of Husker football.

I enjoy Schaefer. I also appreciate his annoyance with his co-host. The recent one I noticed is where whoever that guy he hosts with said he doesn't see a difference between Frost and Rhule and he came with "if you don't know the difference between 6 wins a year and 4 wins, and bowl games and no bowl games I don't know what to talk to you about."

Is Schaefer still unemployed for being fat and bad at his job
He co-hosts on the early morning 1620 show. Maybe he was fat and bad at the 247 job. I personally enjoy his sports takes as they closely resemble what I believe the average fan feels about the state of things and he has never been shy about calling it like it is.

Our local sports radio shows are just one sad sack of suck after another. But in their defense, I think it’s kinda hard to enjoy a radio that focuses on our perpetual 6-7 program. As a host you kinda have to either white wash (explain away) the suck, or you’re mostly honest about the state of our program and you come off pretty bleak and negative.

I just think it’s hard to really like any sports talk radio show (locally) when the flagship program/sport sucks donkey balls.

Omaha does Omaha things and we wonder why? The home of swimtown, Crayton, and the largest population of Cockeye Hawkeye fans per square mile in the state and it surprises you?

This is tPB, and you are better than this.

I've quit listening to that station completely. The downturn started when they let Nick Handley's contract expire. While I don't think Gary and Nick were a good together, Nick is very talented and could have anchored the midday timeslot.

Then they make probably the most insanely underwhelming hire of all-time with the young boy Matt. He's gawd awful. That show really went south when Gary was teamed up with him.

The afternoon guys are just terrible. Peterson couldn't be a bigger fan of himself and Bishop is a Pickle Smoochers honk; as is Happer.

It's comical that it went from Kugler and Severe, which was a fantastic show, to a 12-hour lineup of bad sports talk.

100%!

While Bishop and Peterson jack each other off with their schtick, producer Nick decides to chime in with his typical "I don't know sports but I'll say some dumb shit to get my voice on the air" words. To be fair, he knows sports but not to the level needed to be in the job he's in. Also, those bitches have no business telling a kid what he should and shouldn't be tweeting about nor should they care! Using a positive thing from a recruit and turning it into bait and/or fodder for a bit on your show of maybe 1,000 listeners (that's being generous) is juvenile and a waste of time. I hope their boss listens and realizes they can do better. Wait, no they can't b/c Kugler and Severe won't ever host a show on that station again

Unfortunately there are a bunch of douchers who listen because it's the only option and they want local sports talk. It's sad that a city of 500,000 people has to be subjected to that programming. I mean, for gawd's sakes, a 23 y/o moron with no talent, has his own show. What serious market would that even be possible?

I used to listen to 1620 all day. Now, I listen to Ravi and DB in the morning then done with sports talk until 4pm for the average Joe sports show.

Which one of those losers came with "when I was in high school, I wasn't tweeting like that." Were any of those guys ever a top100 recruit in the nation for any sport where a tweet like that would need to be uttered?
i just cant believe the manner in which they are talking about other people, especially kids. Its so strange.
