Both coordinators return, but other changes are made:

Foley retires
Barthel new job
Knighton new job
McGuire new job

Bringing back satt would signal to the fan base that Rhule values his friendship over the program and most of the fan base would turn on him pretty quickly. Not saying you're wrong but it's a good way to piss away fan support.

Knighton is the only one I’d be sad to see leave, but depends on who replaces them. In all honestly, we’d still be a 3 to 5 win team with the same coordinators. If Nebraska can’t beat the teams we’re supposed to, time to become a volleyball and basketball school.

Hate to say it brother, but we're already a volleyball school.

He’s already on my shit list for hiring Satt in the first place. If he is retained then Rhule is dead to me.

Oh I was out on him after Indiana. But even casual fans will be done at that point. Don’t think rhule knows how uncomfortable an offseason can be in Lincoln when you’ve tied your wagon to a lame duck coordinator.

Rhule is almost a dead man walking at Nebraska.

Some of yall don’t see it yet, but everyone will come around in due time to realize that he’s not the guy.

It can still be saved though.

But, if he retains satterfield. It’s over, the cancer is terminal. He’s done for and the prognosis gets moved from years to live to months to live.

Our record this year would almost certainly have been better with McCord as starting QB. Rhule banked on future development. Progress is not a straight line.

At what point does self-preservation and the betterment of the program outweigh loyalty to Satt? Is keeping Satterfied even helping Satterfield? I've got to think he is one of the most miserable feeling people around.

Knighton is our best position coach. I hope he stays
He seems good. But people seem to really overvalue him. Don’t feel like we’ve really seen much from anyone outside TRob, Nash, Williams, and Butler.

Butler seems to have grown more with him than the previous staff. Williams looks promising.
But trob and Nash were pretty much finished products. Need to see more to have hope for the dline next season

I found this interesting from the presser going on right now, according to HOL. Looks like Rhule is bringing in some outsiders to anaylize the Husker offense. I think this is a good step in the right direction. I wonder who that is going to be? Has to be someone retired to do it now during the season.

***Rhule said it's his job to "always consider everything," including potential changes on offense. He said he talked with football people outside the program to get "a fresh set of eyes" to look at what's going on. Those people will come to Lincoln this week and evaluate things in person.

He said he'd always sought outside consultation, but bringing people to campus during the season was rare. "Whatever it takes."

Expanded below, from Robin Washut:

On the heels of three straight losses, Nebraska football will look to right the ship during its second bye week of the season.

Head coach Matt Rhule will take the podium this afternoon for his weekly press conference. Follow along here for live updates on what he has to say...

NEBRASKA HEAD COACH MATT RHULE

***Rhule said Dylan Raiola suffered a back/spine contusion. He would be questionable if NU played this week, but will be day-to-day for USC.

***Running back Rhamir Johnson is questionable with an ankle injury he suffered vs. UCLA.

***Rhule said, "This is a tough time," and Nebraska needed to look at itself and not point fingers. They also need to attack recruiting during the off-week. "A lot of introspection, but at the same time, we've got to get ready for USC... We're not treating this like a bye week. This is a game week for us."

***Rhule said it's his job to "always consider everything," including potential changes on offense. He said he talked with football people outside the program to get "a fresh set of eyes" to look at what's going on. Those people will come to Lincoln this week and evaluate things in person.

***Rhule said not handling defensive pressure, especially on third downs, has been one of the bigger problems on offense. They're also not running it well enough. "We're just not playing well enough on offense to have a chance to win." He said, "It's probably a little bit of everything... That's not a great answer, but we just need to play better."

***Rhule pointed to Jacory Barney and Isaiah Neyor as bright spots on offense vs. UCLA. "We just need more of them."

***Rhule: I thought we'd be playing better on offense than we are. I thought we'd run it better." He said NU would emphasize red-zone offense this week.

***Rhule said the level of competition has something to do with Nebraska's offensive struggles the past few weeks.

***Rhule called this an "unbelievable, invaluable experience for Dylan" to fight through real in-season adversity for the first time. "For a young freshman quarterback, this is on-the-job learning." Teams have thrown a lot at him, and he's had to adjust on the fly a lot. "Dylan is building a rolodex" of defensive looks.

***Rhule said it was part of his job to look at Marcus Satterfield's performance. He didn't see "tremendous issues" happening during the week, but something wasn't translating to game days. He added that it was "important for our players to take accountability" for the offensive struggles as well.

"We're looking at everything, and it's the same thing on defense... There's nothing I won't do to get there."

***On running it eight straight times after the pick six vs. UCLA, Rhule said he didn't "interject" into the play calling. He said his message was not to panic. "Go down and score, and don't rush."

***Rhule said the identity he wanted his team to have over the final three regular-season games was consistency. He said it's "hard for me to hear" when people call his team inconsistent. "I think I really have to look at my approach... Am I being demanding enough? Am I being hard enough?"

He wants three games where the Huskers "fight, scratch, and compete."

***Rhule said Nebraska would practice Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - all of which would focus on USC prep. He'll hit the road to recruit after Wednesday's practice and be on the road W-Th-F. "This is a pivotal time."

***Rhule said keeping up the team's morale depended on the players. "At some point, you've got to go out and play... I want the guys that are going to go out and compete. We've got enough of them."

***Rhule said Malcolm Hartzog should be back for USC. Tommi Hill made it through the UCLA game fine and should continue to heal up. He said guys like Marques Buford would benefit from some downtime.

***Rhule said there wasn't "much difference" between the talent levels across the Big Ten. Teams like Ohio State are loaded, but others like UCLA always had plenty of talent, too. "I don't see huge drop-offs when we play different teams."

***On Nebraska potentially playing up or down to the level of its opponent, Rhule said he'd always prided himself on his team's consistency. "I'm trying to find a way for the players to be more consistent. The players have to play... That is kind of what's happening, to be quite honest with you."

***Rhule said you needed to show progress to build as a program, but he wasn't going "chase" players on the current roster. "We have a great thing going here, and we've got recruits that want to come here from all across the country... I'm not worried about that. I care deeply for my players ... but if a little bit of adversity causes you to turn and run, then so be it."

That's all for Rhule.
