Stock Market/Investing/Day Trading/Speculative Trading Thread

What’s everyone’s thoughts on spacex ipo? I would love to just own starlink segment lol.
I don't have a good answer for you but seems to me like ipo's with this much attention get a big bump the first week or so and then fall back to a realistic price. XOVR is an etf with pre ipo SpaceX. One could buy this etf now. Ride the ipo bump, sell at the top of course, then buy actual spacex after it settles in if you like it long.

Given how much it’s going to be loaded into index funds ~15 days or so from listing, Idk that you need to buy it individually. You’ll have exposure.

Pros:

Starlink. Phenomenal business. Could be the AWS engine to the whole thing
Elon bros will buy and hold
Selling AI compute is smart business (like Tesla selling credits)

Mixed
Vertically integrating launch obv has great synergies, but it’s capex heavy in an increasingly competitive space. Blue Origin and Rocket Lab are coming in hot and the Chinese aerospace industry is cooking right now. Do they stay the leader in an increasingly competitive space against a focused player like ASTS

Similar with AI. But the cap ex spend is insane. There isn’t anyone I know in the industry using Grok.

Cons
Kuiper+Globalstar+ Blue Origin is going to be a real competitor generally

Why would I want my space company to own Twitter?

I’m not sold on the space data center story angle

Anthropic is going to hit the market at a similar valuation with higher run rate revenue

It’s a company that’s going to price in the range of 107 x revenue. You’re going to see volatility. Given the vintage of the investment, there are VCs that will need to return capital. Keep an eye on trading volume as additional dilution pops. Buy then if you want in.

If the market justifies the multiple, there will be other strong players. I’d hedge with them depending on which story you buy into.

Terminal confession:

I paper handed a small early $DELL position ($3k 300CJUN18) at +100% like an absolute bitch

Same contracts will open easily +2,000% (probably more) tomorrow morning

Don’t be me
