Sheeeeeit. Who do you think donated the lumber and the tools to build the ramp? This is pretty much my block growing up in the 60's, FWIW. All the parents were cool until you fucked up, then they smacked you like you were their own kid. No need to wait to tell your own parents - they just deal with that shit then and there. Eventually, we learned ... but not after a few well placed smacks to the side of the head, usually preceded by "What in the fuck were you thinking?"
