We’re going to keep losing close games when the league is working against us. Who does it favor to call a game with no holding or Pass Interference? Who benefited from two calls that could’ve led to more points but the refs ignored obvious DPIs?

U guys remember when Nebraska was called for DPI that handed Wisconsin points at the end of a close game? It’s always chalked up as Nebraska being it’s own worst enemy but other teams don’t face that when playing us. We honestly have to be two scores better than teams to break away from this bs

They were bad but that’s still not the reason we lose. We have a loser mentality and come up small in crunch time every single time.

I know that's an easily parroted narrative, but you weren't watching the game if you believe that. They actually played well in crunch time. Dylan maybe took more risk than I'd like, but he got away with it and then made some good plays. If that final PI doesn't happen, Banks likely catches that. If it gets called, we have a hell of a shot to punch it in.

For once the offense didn't completely crumble in a do or die situation

USC beat us in every facet of this game. They could have called DPI and we still would have lost. No way do we score a TD, a 2 point conversion and win in OT, NO FUCKING WAY. We suck in OT, out goal line plays get stuffed and doubt we even score a TD. The call didn't fucking matter, USC beat us in every stat category but penalties and turnovers.

There’s a variety of factors that go into a win or loss but I’d say if we statistically looked at Nebraska in close losses, it would be an outlier compared to everyone else & even the losers would perform better. Put the shoe on the other foot & do u think the refs throw a flag on those two plays today?

Most likely they would & ppl like u would chalk it up to being our own worst enemy. Nothing to see here cuz heaven forbid it’s not legitimately an even playing field. No way did the conference want their LA cash cow to make a bowl & why risk anything with Notre Dame to end the year & UCLAbia next week.

Banks isn't catching that, there was a USC DB right in front of him that caught the ball. No shot at punching it in, we are just about the worst team in the country in scoring TDs in the redzone. DPI just would have given us another play, almost zero chance of a win.

False starts in crunch time is playing well…

It’s a broken record IMO. Anytime ther is adversity. The defense. Which has been pretty good all year, folds. The offense. Pretty much shits their pants. Between false stats and not being able to deliver a ball or find a run identity is maddening.

Defense folds whenever they can put a real stranglehold on the game. I mean, first quarter and the pick 6. We go up 7-0 and you think a quick stop and USC could be in real trouble early. Instead, they just let them walk down the field, miss easy INT's and score a TD.

Ohio St, take the lead in 4th quarter and defense allows them to drive down the field and retake the lead. For how well our defense plays at times, they lack any sort of game changing plays and certainly fold during crunch time.

Banks was literally held and kept from coming back to the ball, so I don't know that it's accurate to say that Banks might not have caught that ball.

False start coming out of a time out no less. 🤦‍♂️

They’ve paid millions to unqualified guys for close to a decade.

Speaking of talent- Fidone, are his feet in concrete blocks? He does not look like the second best TE coming out of high school. Couldn’t help but think when he caught that pass on the last drive that if that was Carter Nelson we probably get another 15 yards.

I think fidone runs decent routes, but it takes him a few steps to generate any type of speed or athleticism. Those knee injuries fucked him up.
Nebraska needs to push him out this off season and move on
