Printing Vs Cursive

Wife created Christmas cards for the grandkids and I had to “write” them. The problem is that the schools don’t teach cursive anymore and they don’t know how to read handwriting.

Never realized how much harder it is to print a whole Christmas card when you’re used to cursive. Crazy to think that all of the penmanship awards I had in school don’t mean a thing if my grandkids can’t read it……🤔

Obviously old enough to know how to write cursive. My kids who are all in their mid 20s to mid 30s all use cursive.

To me it just seems faster!

Of course who writes much any more with phones, laptops and tablets to do homework I guess…

I cannot do cursive anymore. When I sign my name it is a mix of print and cursive or "pursive."

Do kids still get taught this using Big Chief paper?

I always wrote in chicken scratch. I had a college professor threaten to fail me because he couldn’t read my handwriting.

I’m 34 I learned cursive in school but BARELYYYY use it, pretty much only when I sign my name (and even then it’s just a total scribble). Even my print handwriting is awful. I would’ve been laughed out of polite society in any other time in modern history.
