Postgame Notes: USC at Nebraska
• With the win, USC improved to 6-0-1 all-time against Nebraska, including 3-0 in Lincoln.
• Running back Emmett Johnson rushed 29 times for 165 yards and a 10-yard touchdown. Johnson’s 100-yard game marked his fifth of the season and his third in conference play.
• Johnson topped the century mark for the second straight week after rushing for 124 yards vs. Northwestern last week. He is the first Husker with back-to-back 100-yard games in conference play since Devine Ozigbo accomplished that in 2018.
• With his 165 rushing yards, Johnson increased his season rushing total to 1,002, the most rushing yards by a Husker since Ozigbo rushed for 1,082 yards in 2018.
• Johnson increased his career rushing total to 2,011, making him the 32nd player in school history to surpass 2,000 career rushing yards.
• Johnson’s rushing touchdown was his 10th rushing touchdown of the season, and his 11th overall touchdown of the year.
• Quarterback Dylan Raiola completed 10-of-15 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown. Raiola increased his season passing total to 2,000 yards, making him the first Husker with back-to-back 2,000-yard passing seasons since Tommy Armstrong Jr. had three straight 2,000-yard seasons from 2014 to 2016.
• Senior receiver Dane Key caught a 14-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring. The TD catch was Key’s fifth of the 2025 season at Nebraska and the 19th of his college career.
• Sophomore receiver Nyziah Hunter had five catches for 30 yards in the game. It marked his fourth straight game with at least five receptions. He is the first Husker to have four consecutive games with five or more catches since Wan’Dale Robinson in 2020.
• Nebraska limited USC to a season-low 337 yards, 193 yards below their nation-leading season average of 530 yards per game. The Huskers held USC to their lowest total yards in 26 games, dating back to the Trojans’ 2023 game against Notre Dame.
• Nebraska has now held every opponent this season to fewer than 400 yards of total offense. The Huskers have held their first nine opponents to fewer than 400 yards, the first time that has happened since the 2009 season.
• Nebraska limited USC to a season-low 135 passing yards. That marked the first time USC had passed for fewer than 150 yards in 83 games, dating back to the 2018 season.
• NU has now held eight of its nine opponents this season to fewer than 160 passing yards.
• Cornerback Andrew Marshall had an interception in the third quarter, marking his first career interception. He also had three tackles in the game to give him 102 career tackles.
• Linebacker Vincent Shavers Jr. had a 10-yard sack in the second quarter, marking his first sack in 2025, and the second of his career.
• True freshman Kade Pietrzak had a six-yard sack in the second quarter, marking his second sack of the season.
• Redshirt freshman safety Rex Guthrie tied his career high for the second straight game with eight tackles.
