I am talking about when you eat your Dean’s recipe prime rib or whatever extravagant dish you’ve prepared for the holiday.

I am curious what everyone’s traditions are. For me it’s Christmas Eve night (dinner). My wife was always Christmas Day at night. To me the magic of “Christmas Day” is pretty much over by around noon and doing the big meal on Christmas night makes no sense.

No grandparents or cousins and my immediate family is spread out so it changes year to year

This year we had our main dinner last night

Immediate family used to have a small dinner on Christmas Eve and then everyone went to grandma and grandpas for the large family dinner on Christmas Day.

We’re typically on our own wherever the Navy sends us so it’s typically whatever we want.

This year it’s tonight with a double smoked ham w/ a bourbon/maple glaze, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, roasted asparagus, and a lot to drink.

Not much wrapping left to do tonight and the kids are going to bed at 9pm-ish.

Life is good.

Dean is behind the times on his recipe.

Agree with Christmas eve night being ideal but it changes every year depending on schedule for us.
