OT: I got demoted...

Got "unofficially" demoted today. A while back I pitched a new idea to my boss. Him and I (mostly me) spent hours refining the new process and we implemented it a little over a year ago. Since then, I built a team and have been leading them. However, today I was informed that they are dissolving the team effective immediately, I am moving back into my old position and half of my team will be reassigned to new roles while the other half will be let go. All of this despite my boss saying that I have done a "tremendous job preparing my team for this role," and him saying that he believes that we "succeeded in our role."

On top of it all, I found out that this decision was made over a month ago...and I found out today. I'm beyond pissed.

Update: Came into the office this morning and my boss called me again. They just shit-canned the lead of the new department I was relegated to and offered me his position. Still don't know what to think. It eases my frustrations a bit, but I'm still pretty pissed.

There was an "incident" yesterday morning with said individual and he was on final notice. At the time the decision was made to dissolve my department, the incident was unknown. The whole thing has been a shit show...
