Deion's persona/schtick worked because he was the best player on one of the best teams in CFB for multiple years, with a great coach and a roster full of dudes. He could glide around, run his mouth, get in his opponents' heads, and use his freakish speed & athleticism while an NFL feeder team backed him up.

CU is an average team with a couple pretty good players. The Sanders kids and almost every other player there who's copying "Prime" are all the talk with about half the skill & athleticism, and on a roster full of holes that's going to get boat-raced multiple times per year. They're going to get murdered because they're not good enough to put that target on their own backs & justify it with their play.
