On3 - NIL Valuation

Making a public declaration and estimation of the dollar value of a child seems like a pretty bad thing to do for a bunch of reasons. I highly doubt someone will be able to convince me otherwise.

Isn't he the same guy who is on his 3rd time building a recruiting services?

Builds it up, sells, waits for non compete to go away and repeats.

Yep. He did it with both rivals and 247. He’s clearly got the formula that he won’t be soon sharing.

I think he’s going to kill rivals. Not like just beat them. I think they’ll be headed for the grave.

Everyone else is incredibly dense. No one has innovated in the industry until this dude does it and takes their lunch. I mean shit, 247s last innovation was the composite ranking. It took rivals YEARS to add a crystal ball feature, and they STILL don’t do a consensus ranking system.

Like everyone else in this industry is incredibly lazy, incredibly stupid, or both. If they didn’t know this guy would come up with new selling points as soon as the 247 noncompete expired I don’t even know what to say and they deserve to be buried.

In a few years he will sell on3, rinse and repeat. And likely no one will innovate in the meantime (because they are lazy, stupid or both) and he will be able to bury the poor sucker that buys on3.

There's been services that estimate the value of social media accounts based on followers for a long time, I think all that's really new is applying it to football recruits.
Right, but what do you want to bet his social media following changes pretty drastically once he commits?

The value they put on the social media followings is asinine, especially for a high school kid. NIL money isn't going to be coming from Intsagram, Facebook, or Twitter posts, it's literally going to be cash handed over to players from businesses and boosters.
The more followers a kid has, the more said businesses are going to want him/her promoting their business...theoretically.

I mean it does give credence to their name/image/likeness in the public domain. As more and more people know who someone is or is able to recognize them, the more valuable their endorsement becomes. Popularity anymore is largely driven by social media presence. Probably not a perfect equation but it's a starting point if nothing else.
