I thought Mitch was pretty hard to read IMHO. I was trying to parse what he was saying like a WWII enemy decoder but I wasn't catching much.

I definitely got the sense that Mitch found out some stuff off the record when he interviewed Dylan in AZ. I'm not convinced it was "I already committed to NU" though. Though I'd love for that to be the case.
