I miss all the crazy personalities and general message board insanity of the old days, I wonder if everyone is more mild mannered now because people are spread across so many boards, or because we have been bad/mediocre for so long that the team doesn't inspire passionate freakouts anymore, or what. HTO alone went on more insane rampages than I've seen on any boards in the past 5 years combined.

I think that was just the husker fandom falling off a cliff after being so good for so long and then all the sudden not being good.

HTO rampages were epic.

Yeah I think the Bo years were a perfect storm for that kind of thing too because:

A) We always felt so close to getting over the hump, and yet so far away at the same time
B) The memory of being really good was still fresh, and the memory of being really bad was even more fresh, so people were at each other's throats about whether we were "back" or about to faceplant
C) Bo himself was crazy and polarizing
D) It was easier for inside info to get out in those days (despite Bo's paranoia)
E) We were actually in the mix every year, so there was excitement and tension from week to week throughout the season. That just hasn't been the case anymore so the message board conversations just devolve into fuck-it mode by week 4 haha

Just looked at some names from 2005. @Wonderbread Funk and @argon were a few that that I enjoyed communicating with. @Ziolent made me laugh. @husker in wierd country left some strange messages on my fanpage so I always kept my distance from him.

Rumor has it those girls are still waiting on Ziolents bed
