I've been pretty negative since last Thursday night. We simply can't be negative all the time. Let's say some things we saw that we liked and see if we can swing some mojo our way.

Omar Brown came to play. Dude looked good out there.

OL power looked like we won't have a problem on 3rd or 4th and short. Justin Evens Jenkins looked really good on one.

Tristan Alvano had a nice debut.

Tackling overall was aggressive. That has to pay off with some caused fumbles at some point.

Nash and Blaise showed they can play in the Big 10. These were two question marks before the season but looks like they will at a minimum be serviceable.

Defensive rotation seemed good in the sense that lots of guys playing means fresher legs and hopefully more energy on D overall.

Anyone else see something they liked?

Special teams overall. When is the last time we had a kick return like that possibly Abdallah? Defense looked light-years better. O line looks way better than last year minus pass pro.

We only lost by 3 points. That was nice to see

The whole secondary looked pretty fucking good.
They were giving Minnesotas qb no windows. And tackled

I saw Minnesota throwing a bunch of short passes and our D there almost instantly to tackle. Where in the past those would go for 10+
You’re not wrong but still disappointing to see so many completed passes

That's because they were selling out to stop the run and were willing to let Minnesota sling it around because they are Minnesota and that is not what they want to do. Minnesota basically didn't do anything after their first few drives until we had 2 turnovers late.

I was glad to see the tackling vastly improved and the run D better as well. Not sure if MN broke 100 yards rushing or not.

Our defense looked the best it's been in years. The OL in the 2nd half was dominating in the run game for stretches. Brown & Singleton look like they might be the best safety duo in the Big Ten.

TCU's defense is boo boo. I think the key for Saturday will be letting the defense do what they do, while establishing clock control & leaning on the power run game. We gotta Paul Chryst this shit. If passing, we gotta do simple PA rollouts where Sims can tuck & run it if need be.

I thought the ILBs played well. Bullock was a nice surprise. No positives for the offense.

Exactly, if that was a true representation of Nebraska's defense. Colorado isnt scoring 45 on Nebraska's defense.

Colorado is running hurry up. We all have first hand knowledge of how that can back fire. Nebraska will be able to run the ball. So say Nebraska goes on a 6 min scoring drive, then Prime has a 3 and out that takes 45 seconds on the clock. Nebraska will get right back at that already suspect defense and they will be running for like 10 yards a pop by later in the game. The chances of getting 400 to 500 rushing yards in this game is very high IMO.

As long as Nebraska doesn't get into an early deficit, Nebraska should be able to dictate the game. Their shit defense is going to get rolled on and CU will start pressing and Sanders could throw some picks.
