“Blessed to announce that I will be furthering my athletic and academic career at the University of Nebraska. I’d like to thank God, my family, teammates, and coaches for helping me along the way,” Sanderson wrote announcing the commitment.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Sanderson plays first base, outfield and pitches, and had a breakout season last year as a sophomore, hitting .469 with a .577 on-base percentage and collected nine doubles, six triples and six home runs with 37 RBI’s and 45 runs scored, according to Ozarks Sports Zone, 21 of Sanderson’s hits last season went for extra bases.
On the mound, Sanderson threw 47.1 innings, going 4-1 with a 3.25 ERA and 82 strikeouts as a sophomore.
Sanderson was selected to represent Missouri last summer in Prep Baseball Report’s 16U Futures Games, which is a collection of some of the top national talent for that age group. Prep Baseball Report recorded multiple 100-mph exit velocities from Sanderson last summer.
