Top schools aren’t recruiting high schoolers near as hard anymore. The winning strategy has changed to get old and stay old.The weirdest official visit list I've ever seen for a 5* basketball player
It’s basically the same 12 or so programs signing the top 35 kids every yearTop schools aren’t recruiting high schoolers near as hard anymore. The winning strategy has changed to get old and stay old.
Look at us this year, bunch of old guys with a ton of experience. Will be quite the shift in strategy if we get Hampton and have 3 true freshman that could all see playing time.
Interesting note here however; according to 24/7, 5 of the top rated 10 highest ranked players recruited and committed to Nebraska, have occurred in the last 4 years. Two of the top 3.It’s basically the same 12 or so programs signing the top 35 kids every year
Teams like Purdue and Michigan State have made a killing in that 40-100 range and them staying multiple years and developing. To me it looks like thats the blueprint Fred is going, but if you have a legit chance at a top 10 guy the juice is worth the squeeze imo.
We are soured on it because of McGowens, but the program was in a much different place back then
Amazing to look at that list and remember some guys who I thought were really higly rated and excited to get. Ed Morrow 12th on that list (six spots behind Leo Curtis!) Roby 15th. Tai Webster 43rd!Interesting note here however; according to 24/7, 5 of the top rated 10 highest ranked players recruited and committed to Nebraska, have occurred in the last 4 years.
