We played and beat Hays twice this year. They had 3 D1 kids. This kid, Gavin Meyers (2022 LB offered by Nebraska) and a 2021 DE that signed with K State.
In my opinion this Kanek kid has the highest ceiling of all 3. He is about 200 lbs and can absolutely fly.

Where do you think he translates position-wise at the next level?

Receiver, he is criminally under used at Hays. They are a very run heavy team. So his stats are not going to pop. Just know that he ran an electronic 4.4 last summer and is 200 lbs. He got thrown in at QB against us our first go around because of some covid stuff and broke off 200 yards rushing. When we ran into them in the playoffs we were pretty pumped they had moved him back to receiver.

Is he better than what we've got?

Curious what @thE kErnEl thinks about the Klebnik kid that RSS is drooling over. Someone said they're at the same school.

Ya know I guess he also played defense against us the 2nd time around. I’d say OLB but I don’t know if he’s gonna end up being big enough. Very athletic. Would love to see him in an offense where he gets more opportunities to catch balls.

Are you talking about the quarterback from Westlake High School in Austin? I'm at McNeil and haven't seen any hs football this year, so I'm of no help, sorry.

If I was to recruit to Nebraska again, I'd have to transfer to Westlake or Lake Travis, both powerhouses in Texas HS football. Also, both of those school have kids from very affluent families, fwiw.

That's the kid. I didnt think Westlake sounded right.

So this guy is at Westlake and thinks you are too?

Edit: He mentors there. Maybe mentors at McNeil too and got the schools confused.

Looks like it. I have no idea who DrRedDuke is. Feel free to correct him. McNeil's football team is below average. Our Computer Science team rocks and are in the running for a state championship!!

And if he is mentoring at McNeil, please ask him to introduce himself.

Oh hey, my old neighborhood, I lived there on McNeil Dr lol.

But yeah, Westlake and Lake Travis have produced some serious QBs over the years: https://247sports.com/Article/Sam-E...als-Drew-Brees-Nick-Foles-Westlake-138971861/
