yeah number 1 team in D1 vs a 3-5 D2 team. I wonder if thats the worst loss in school history, has to be and maybe not close. BH made round of 16 every year from 2005-2017 including 4 state title appearances. 2 head coaches during that period. Got a new coach in ‘18.

I grew up between Deweese and Lawrence. Lawrence always had a lot of talent and when Sandy Creek was at their best it was really Lawrence talent with Shaws, Herbeks, and Lipovskis. Brian Shaw’s mom was from Lawrence.

Shaw’s mom was as a Kalvoda originally from Lawrence. Brian Shaw married a Herbek whose family was loaded with talent and intelligence. Brian’s wife’s mom was a Lipovski before marriage. Brian’s wife is cousins with Jimmy. Jimmy was suppose to go to UNL and high jump but he broke his leg his senior year in football and was never the same. It’s funny how a few families can dominate an area. The other family I would add is Kissinger. Brian and Jared were freaks and their daughters tore it up in Minden and St. Cecilia. If Ninemire would have got them at Sandy Creek he would probably have 5 more titles in girls basketball. I’ve also never heard how good Shaw’s kids are. I know he has a lot of boys. They should be high school age. I figured since he had kids with a Herbek they would produce some freak athletes.

Josh is a senior at SC will be all state lineman this year. mikayla went to Omaha for basketball & i dont know the rest there’s a few more. my dad worked at r lazy k for a long time as a penrider

I remember when Falls City Sacred Heart won State boys Football-Basketball-Track all in the same year. (To be honest they probably have done that a few times)

Anyways, even they would essentially turtle when they got up by 50+ cuz their HC was old school and would rather die than be considered to have no class
