So tomorrow's practice will be open to the media for 20-30 minutes in which some of them will try to massage a storyline or two out of that miniscule sample of information.

Let's see if we can guess some of what they'll say. I'll start....

Someone will definitely say (Insert transfer) "looks the part".

We will also accept "Put on good weight"
"Looks Big 10 ready" and "Passes the eyeball test".

"First guy off the bus" 'Moving around well"

From Dean - "How great some white walk-on is looking".

Actually if they keep it to this "eyeball" stuff that is a win.

It's when they try to stretch that 30 second look at a player into a prediction about PT they're getting or how important they'll be to the season. You really can't learn anything from these 20-30 min observations OTHER than how a player physically looks. If they keep it to 'this guy is big' etc, I'm fine with that.

  • Thompson was the QB that came out 1st and took initial snaps.
  • Prochazka was moving like he'd never suffered an injury.
  • Frost was engaged, energetic and making the rounds to all position groups.
@HuskerGarrett did you ever get your media pass?
No that lady never replied to my email. I’ll try finding someone else to contact

Practice "observations"
*** I really like Donovan Raiola’s coaching style. Fits into the vocal category with a heavy emphasis on aggressiveness. At one point, he exclaimed, “Take his head off!”

High quality stuff....take his head off. That'll get all the hermergerds riled up.
