Best week of the year is upon us. Course looks pure and the field is absolutely stacked: 48 of the top 50 players in the OWGR are in the field (don't let DataGolf fool you... the 'official' SoF is lower than both the Players and the Genesis. Those numbers are heavily weighted by returning Master's champions and amateurs.)

Barring something catastrophic, Tiger will play and be the headliner. I think that bodes well for the rest of the field, especially guys like Rahm, JT, Scottie and Rory. Spieth is the perennial contender no matter his form so he'll be one to watch.

If forced to pick two of the guys with a legit chance, I'd go with Rory and Spieth. I think Tiger has a chance to play the weekend but don't think he'll physically be able to do it.

Gonna be a fun one.

My cousin's daughter is there working. Guess she has been the last few years. She's picking me up a green 1/4 zip. Such a sweet girl. Allegedly Garrett Nelson was chasing her at one point.

That's all I've got on the Masters. No idea who the favorites are even.

Interesting considering Rory is playing some not great golf right now, and outside of a good finishing round yesterday Spieth has been very pedestrian as well. Would love to see either of these guys win, though.

Guys I'd back this week include JT and Cantlay. Easy pick is someone like Rahm. And don't sleep on Brooks or Morikawa. Both are really good in majors.

I agree. I don't think any reasonable person would pick Jordan or Rory this week. With that said, I stand by my picks lol

I picked Cam Smith, Brooks Koepka, Will Zalatoris, and Corey Conners for 4 of my 6 golfers for a fantasy pool.

My other two are between Brian Harman and Cameron Young, and then Gary Woodland and Erik van Rooyen.

Very solid picks.

Annual tradition where I take a tub of this and add peppers to make my own pimento sandwiches.

Usually so drunk on homemade John Dalys that the cheese tastes even better.

Not sure if any of you watch the Live From the Masters on Golf Channel, but they have a small feature on Johnny Goodman.

I can honestly say I didn’t know much about his history, but basically the feature said that if Goodman didn’t beat Bobby Jones in the 1929 US Amateur, there is a chance that Augusta National would’ve never been designed. Jones wouldn’t have been eliminated from the tournament (match play) and then he would’ve never spent the rest of the week with Alister MacKenzie, who he ultimately chose over Donald Ross to design the course (Ross instead focused on Pinehurst #2). So, in a roundabout way, a Nebraskan is responsible for the creation of Augusta National and the Master’s.
