Madison radio post game shows if anyone's interested.

Bullet points - 1st video:
  • 3 of 4 want Fickel fired
  • One guy: This was the most embarrassing loss since Northwestern in 1996
  • No idea what Fickel is doing
  • UW better win the Axe game vs Minnesota or Fickel could be fired in yr 3
  • This Wisconsin team has no heart
  • Cockeye and Nebraska are yearly water mark games for Wisconsin and we got crushed in both games
  • This means we've fallen below Nebraska and are one of the worst programs in the B1G
  • The last 3 min of 1st half changed the game - WTF was our coaching staff doing
  • Nebraska had never seen or touched the Freedom Trophy, that's embarrassing to lose the streak like this

2nd video (w Jesse Temple, their Mitch Sherman from the Athletic)
  • First 15 min about how great the offense is
  • How was our defense so bad? Nebraska was 91st in total offense
  • Well they did have Dana Holgorsen, maybe this is who Nebraska is now
  • Other guy - no. They are mediocre. Actually mediocre is being kind to Nebraska
  • Well, they are a bowl team. They're not that bad.
  • Yes they are.
  • Can't lose like this to two of your three rivals (Cockeye, NU)
  • Fickel absolutely has to win next week vs Minnesota or he's going to be in trouble
  • Wisconsin better not get embarrassed at Alabama next year or Fickel might get fired in-season

Both shows very very salty toward their own team and coach. No knowledge of Nebraska at all. Only player they knew was Dylan Raiola. Biggest surprise were that both shows talk about Nebraska as a rival. I appreciate that. After 12 straight wins or whatever that is kind of them to still consider Nebraska a rival. But again not a single host on either show knew a Nebraska player not named Dylan Raiola.

Take a listen if you want your daily schadenfreude.

In my defense I cant name one player on their team that wasn’t injured.
Yeah, it's not really a slam, it's totally understandable. Why would they know our players?

I think our media generally do a good job of prepping our fans for each B1G game. With the media I consume, I usually know 3-4 players on each team, even if it's Purdue or Illinois.

None of our players are that notable though, especially on offense. So they are thinking UW just got torched by an absolute no-name offense. Which is kind of true.

I think it’s hard for anyone to comprehend just how bad Satt was. Not that we should have been averaging 40 points a game, but man he underachieved bad.

I mean logically no one should be able to show up 3/4 of the way through a season and be able to fix an offense that has been playing like shit all year. I can see why they would be pissed.

Wow one year with a bad record and they're crying about try having that for a good ten years then get back to me.

I'm knowledgeable on the roster of every team we play, because I want to know who we are up against. The guys saying they don't know anyone on Nebraska's roster are either absolute idiots that need to be fired immediately, or they were purposely trying to be disrespectful assholes.

Looking at their roster, I recognize

Braedyn Locke
Tyler Van Dyke (former Miami QB)
Chez Mellusi (from around my way)
Gideon Ituka (wanted us to recruit him)
Chris Brooks Jr. (Husker legacy)
CJ Williams (former 5 star)
Tucker Ashcraft (wanted us to recruit him, thank God we didn't)
Kevin Heywood (we offered, 5 star OL, had no shot)
JP Benzschawel (older brother was a beast)
Riley Mahlman (Frost recruited him, he chose Wisky)
Ernest Willor (wanted us to recruit him)
Christian Alliegro (Rhule recruited him, he chose Wisky)
Thomas Heiberger (Rhule recruited him, he chose Wisky)
Jake Chaney (from around my way)
Omilio Agard (Rhule recruited him, he chose Wisky)
RJ Delancy (former Husker turncoat, the reason Frost stopped recruiting Florida)
Jonas Duclona (from around my way, wanted us to recruit him)
Nyzier Fourqurean (had a good game against us last year)
Xavier Lucas (wanted us to recruit him)
Ricardo Hallman (wanted us to recruit him)
Raphael Dunn (wanted us to recruit him)
Hunter Wohler (one of their best players)
Preston Zachman (one of their best players)

and these guys are getting paid to know this stuff!!

I think it comes down to their audience. In Madison their audience doesn't care about who's playing for Nebraska, Cockeye, Purdue, Michigan St etc. So if you run a radio show there there's no need to do these deep dives into the opponent like we do.

The Nebraska audience does care though. So our radio and podcasters educate you on those names.

It's a different fanbase in Wisconsin. They care more about the Packers and their opponents. And maybe care more about Wisconsin hoops and their opponents too.

I actually think we have wasted so much talent over the last 8-10 years due to poor coaching....to the point where other teams just assume we have shitty players.

When Matt Rhule was hired, Tim Brando said "their biggest challenge is they can't get talent to come to Lincoln"....which has NOT been our biggest challenge! Lol

Do you remember 1998? Or 2002? People were ready to run Frank out for losing 4 games in 98 and then especially after going 7-7 in 02.
This is exactly what they’re going thru. The Barry Alvarez scheme covered up a lot of inadequacies for Wisconsin & they still think they belong in a category with tOSU & Michigan which they never actually reached. Add in the Green Bay success & there is a lot of arrogance thinking they are a bigger program then they actually are.

Their fans have been hating #2ndChoice since mid way thru his first season so I won’t be surprised if there isn’t a lot of coaches who are interested in being Wisky’s next coach

Congratulations?

When I was a teenager I cared much more about the opposition.

95% of the time over the last 10 years you just need to know Nebraska’s roster and staff to know what Nebraska is up against.

Me as well. I used to know so many more details.

I think the losing has taken a toll and much of the joy out of it for me. If we start winning I'm curious how much that'll change my attitude to learn more about opponents.

Hell, I don't even read post-game articles after a loss anymore. So beat down.
