Kyle Crooks will take over as the play-by-play announcer calling Nebraska football, NU announced Monday
He replaces Greg Sharpe, who called both from 2007 until his death from pancreatic cancer in early 2025.
Crooks has spent the past eight years calling a variety of Florida sports, including — with varying frequency — men’s and women’s basketball, softball, soccer and baseball. He recently called the Gaytors’ run to the Women’s College World Series.
In 2016 and 2017 Crooks was the voice of a pair of small colleges: Misericordia University in Pennsylvania and Georgian Court University in New Jersey.
He graduated from William Paterson University in 2014 and is from New Jersey.
