Most of the Wildcat fans I talk to are what I would call cautiously optimistic. They know his injury history and his turnover history....but also know he's more talented than anybody else they have on their roster.

I hope Howard drops his balls on Martinez in fall camp and tea bags him all season refusing to let him come in like Favre used to do with Rogers.

I should be getting some good info on the behind the scenes with Martinez at KSU. A friend of mine's daughter is a Classy Cat or whatever the KSU dance team is called and knows all the football players. Plus she is very good friends with Adrian's girlfriend. She said she knew about Adrian transferring there far before it was made public. I wish Adrian well in his endeavors but I think we have upgraded substantially over him. Just reading about how Casey Thompson is interacting with teammates tells me he is a leader that leads not only by what he says but also by what he actually does. He's smooth in front of the cameras and has been saying the right things. Seems like a natural leader.

I’m gonna rant, AM mentally is why he sucks. Idk how he could watch football or his own film as basically a job & never improve his IQ. Most likely he’s happy win or lose & he’s like ppl who look at the stats & don’t believe he’s at fault for the loss.

I just watched him vs Oklahoma & Michigan, there’s times he just decides go turtle shell/play safe which is not really making any plays & spots our opposition 10-13 points.

His situational awareness is awful, 2 minute drive:takes a sack, throws a drag route to TE mid-field with 30 seconds, then final play throws a check down. We have a 3rd & 5 screen that gets sniffed out but AM has 4 blockers & one rushing DT who he could run from, but throws it in the dirt to punt. The Michigan fumble, how are u a 4 year starter & not understand the playcall is to get the first down, not fight for an extra yard wasting clock. I’ll never forgive his Minney 3rd & 16, where they blitz with zero coverage & Frost dials up verts for a combo of toure/Manning/betts & does Adrian understand he needs to lob it up, nope, he scrambles out of bounds, solidifying another punt.

Watching Thompson play, it’s clear he’s got a brain & I believe he’ll definitely be an upgrade

I should have plenty of info on KSU this year. One friend has a daughter who is a Classy Cat Dancer and she hangs with players. And I am friends with the parents of 2 KSU players. All of these parents are drinking buddies at the Lake so can get good drunk info from them.

I know two kids that are student coaches on the team. I haven't asked them about Martinez because mostly I don't care.
