Jurgens

Hes turned into a bit of a stud. The switch of positions was a great thing for him. I think if he stayed at TE he'd be considered a bust. Stone hands, primarily. But he's an elite athlete and physical freak, so you had to get something out of him.

I wish some of our other lineman would get some of the penalties where he is aggressive. We might be on to something with our line.
to rephrase- no problem with the aggressive penalties, some of which were complete horseshit. i do have a problem with the chop blocks and procedural stuff.

Very solid. The center from Cockeyes is overshadowing all centers. But let’s give the staff some credit for moving a kid that was a 4 star TE or OLB depending on the website into a good center.
He has a hire upside than Tyler IYAM. Cam is so athletic, physical and strong.... I am not sure he realizes how good he can be.

Is he the Isaiah Roby of Nebraska football?

What is the deal on chop blocks now? You can’t do them in the open field? I knew you can’t high low a defensive player anymore.

I heard at the beginning of the year that if we had a bad year, he was going to try to go pro. If it was a good year, he’s staying
He was on one of Dean’s podcasts and said something basically along the lines that his parents have already bought their tickets for Ireland next year and he is excited for that game.

Agreed that he has some improvement on the latter.

I was a regular critic of Cam throughout his first two seasons for his maddening snap issues. I'll give the guy credit for solving that thus far this season and being a mauler up front. He is coming along nicely and definitely has the physical tools to be much better.

It's a block below the waist, not chop block. Chop is a high/low combination block. That is illegal as well.

So the rule for block below the waist is this.

Lined up in tackle box at snap you can block low in all direction.

You cannot block below the waist more than 5 yards down field.

Once ball leaves tackle box all low blocks must come from the 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock of defender's area of concentration (from front). Additionally, cannot block back towards the ball once ball is outside the tackle box. What this basically means is that if a defender is running laterally towards sideline he cannot be blocked low.
