By "bots" I think you mean dudes that past on Open Scrolls. Please don't add them.I know there’s “bots” that you can add to forums that do this. I’ll look into it
We used chatGPT to write an entire policy and procedures at work for our change management process. We just had to tweak a few things.Maybe its just my age but I am completely failing to understand the fascination with this idiotic chat bot. What am I missing here?

And you trust it? Based on the admittedly limited exposure I've had to its responses and such it seems more like a meme-bot than anything usefulI use it to plan lessons and gather resources for my students

Ok you've convinced me it can be useful but the heaps of time people spend on its oddities and it just plain being wrong still baffles me.I review and edit all of the material but it saves me a chunk of time on the front end
Language models are neat but also learn when you put a bunch of garbage in to be garbage. Pretty short distance from 'let me help you find this' to 'heil Hitler'Ok you've convinced me it can be useful but the heaps of time people spend on its oddities and it just plain being wrong still baffles me.
Can't say I'm a fan of having machines do all our thinking myself either. Slippery slope indeed.Language models are neat but also learn when you put a bunch of garbage in to be garbage. Pretty short distance from 'let me help you find this' to 'heil Hitler'
It's slightly useful for some things, but we're still a long ways off from anything transformational and also SkynetCan't say I'm a fan of having machines do all our thinking myself either. Slippery slope indeed.
I'm not afraid of "skynet" as a reality any time soon, but it's like anything that replaces a person's need to do for themselves. Eventually it becomes a person's inability to do for themselves. It's slightly useful for some things, but we're still a long ways off from anything transformational and also Skynet
Maybe someday, but right now it strikes me as something like a gussied up graphing calculator. Like sure it can be really useful, but if you don't have the requisite knowledge to provide a useful input, you'll just get garbage out.I'm not afraid of "skynet" as a reality any time soon, but it's like anything that replaces a person's need to do for themselves. I'm not disputing that. The post that started this conversation was me wondering why people are so fascinated by the garbage it puts back out.Maybe someday, but right now it strikes me as something like a gussied up graphing calculator.
