He’s been developing his high school recruits for a few years now and he claims to be a developmental coach and that Nebraska is a developmental program. If Rhule believes in his process and culture and the developmental system he has in place then it makes sense that he would spend his money retaining his players as opposed to spending heavily in the portal. We ain't exactly a poor program but we did decide to spend most of what we had on retaining players instead of on portal guys.
Lots of opinions right here.
Football Thread 'NIL Discussion'
So this doesn’t get lost. Curious what the insiders or those in the know think? My speculation is that NU has $15mm in rev share and $5mm for FB NIL currently totaling $20mm. So we’re $10-$20mm off the top level. @PonyBoy can you take this to your sources on NIL to get their take?

$6.9LSU has a $40M plus roster according to Chris Hummer. What do you think NU's number is?
I thought that was just for the Raiolas.$6.9
Yes, you still need to be able to evaluate talent and be able to coach them up, but a big pile of money wouldn’t hurt either.I think every program that isn’t in the playoff is asking what is happening with NIL. The fact of the matter probably is that the teams that make the playoff aren’t there simply because their NIL is endless. There might be an outlier or two. But that’s probably it.
IDK, but Dean can go fuck himself. He’s been claiming we’re a a top 10 NIL school for 3+ years despite our portal classes being mostly meh. I know rating portal players and classe can be iffy, but most of the teams that had a top 10 portal class (last year) had pretty good seasons.
IDK how we can be considered a top 10 NIL school when literally zero publications, recruiting services, pundits or ranking systems have us anywhere near the top 10.
How many burgers he eats for lunchI thought that was just for the Raiolas.
We're paying a bunch of dudes that aren't ever going to contribute iwbh hth gbrHe’s been developing his high school recruits for a few years now and he claims to be a developmental coach and that Nebraska is a developmental program. Will it work out for him? I guess we are going to find out.
Better than $6.7$6.9

If Rhule has $30mm+ between rev share and NIL and this is the roster he has come up with then completely agree. Looks like a poorly managed all in $20mm roster.Because of how Rhule chose to spread the money around. Don't pay roster spots 90-120 & it's an entirely different discussion...
That's not a lack of NIL, it's piss poor money/roster management.
