Just egregious, and Rhule’s defense of it - playing slow down 13 - is even worse.

Satterfield needs to go, but he also isn’t the architect of this thing. Rhule has his fingerprints all over the coaching hires, the personnel (transfer and recruits), the offensive system, and the game management.

Everyone seems to agree Satt is cooked, but this is also strike two for Rhule (assembling this staff and targeting Sims was strike 1). I don’t think any sane person is suggesting we fire Rhule, but he’s past getting a free pass.

Even more embarrassing hearing Rhule's remarks about it. They just had to make sure they got the right plays in and after all they played the 2 for 1 perfectly in his mind. It is so fascinating to me how he is so obsessed with this NFL model. For one, he was absolutely terrible in the NFL. For two, CFBALL is drastically different than the NFL in the execution of the game. Nebraska has 0 ability to carry out an end of the game drive in the 2 minute. Why in the fuck would you willingly put yourself in that position? Coaching malpractice!

I consider myself fairly sane and I think he should be fired if he loses out.

Yep.

NFL is NFL.

College is College.

Idgaf that we are in the B1G. You gotta score points. You gotta play with some tempo. As Cockeye has demonstrated year after year, this slow, plodding, ball control shit gives you a ceiling of 9 wins and a floor of 5 wins.

You have a 5 star QB. Let the kid throw it 30-35 times. Dial up some tempo. Get the defense on their heels. Attack. Be the aggressor.

When our offense has looked good this year, it’s when we’ve been the aggressor. Funny, same is true for our defense.

This is when I should’ve stopped drinking. Paid for it the next day
I was drinking heavily throughout the game, but stopped pretty much at the end of the game. I wasn't too sloshed, but enough to pass out on the couch early on Saturday night.

With that said, I woke up right before midnight where there was a car chase going on throughout the neighborhoods that @Huskerbuck85 and I live in.

I wasn’t in town. Sounds like I missed some action!

Amen.

The only team that the "sit back and wait for them to implode" strategy works against is us. There is nothing we do on offense, defense, or special teams that puts the opposition under any pressure. It's amazing how comfortable the other teams continue to look against us. You can read it on their faces during the game: "Yup-it's exactly what the coaches and the video said it would be". Meanwhile, we get "well they gave us a bunch of different looks". That's a tiny step up from "we had to toss half of our game plan because Illinois lined up in a different front than what we were expecting".

College football is all about offense and scoring points. As has been mentioned this past weekend, even Saban opened up the Alabama offense. Even playing the style Rhule wants, you have to score points and cannot make mistakes. Those are our two biggest weaknesses.
