Huskers.com

Nebraska football on the Huskers Radio Network kicks off this Saturday when the Huskers travel to Illinois to open the 2021 season.

Huskers Radio Network Affiliates
Husker Football games can be heard on 48 stations as part of the extensive affiliate network of the Huskers Radio Network. In addition to affiliates in the state of Nebraska, Nebraska football games can also be heard on affiliates in Cockeye, Kansas and South Dakota.

In the state of Nebraska, KXSP AM 590 ESPN (590 AM) and KEZO Z-92 (92.3 FM) serve as Omaha affiliates. KXSP-AM's strong signal reaches a good portion of the Midwest day and night, including parts of Cockeye, Minnesota, Missouri and Kansas. KLIN (1400 AM) serves as the Lincoln affiliate with KFGE Froggy 98 (98.1 FM) also carrying the football broadcast. KRVN (880 AM) is a powerful central Nebraska affiliate that reaches across the state.

Huskers Radio Network Football Broadcast Team
Greg Sharpe
(Play-by-Play), Matt Davison (Analyst), Jeremiah Sirles (Sidelines) and Jessica Coody (pregame and postgame) will anchor the radio coverage of Nebraska football. Sharpe returns for his 14th full season as the "Voice of the Huskers." He will host the Scott Frost pregame and postgame radio shows.

Davison, a former Husker receiver and current Associate Athletic Director for Football, joins Sharpe in the broadcast booth for his 15th season as a color analyst. A member of the 1997 national championship team, Davison also assists with fundraising efforts for the Huskers Athletic Fund, and has been instrumental in the fund raising efforts for the Go Big facility.

Sirles has been a Husker radio contributor in recent years, and will take over the sideline responsibilities for the first time this season. Sirles played at Nebraska from 2010 to 2013, earning All-Big Ten honors in 2012 and 2013. He played in 53 games as a Husker, and spent five years in the NFL before retiring in 2020.

Coody will be a part of the pre-game show and will handle player post-game interviews. Coody is in her first year with Nebraska after spending the last nine years with the University of Oklahoma in a similar role.

Ben McLaughlin, Brendan Stai, Matt Coatney, and Jay Foreman will also be part of the pregame and postgame football broadcast team. Director of Broadcast Operations Mike Elliott oversees studio operations and logistics for the radio network on football game days.

Huskers Radio Network Football Game Day Schedule

Huskers Radio Network coverage of Nebraska football will begin four hours before kickoff on game days, including an 8 a.m. start this Saturday for the season opener.

The broadcast will open with two hours of pregame programming with Husker great Brendan Stai and Ben McLaughlin. Countdown to Kickoff will begin two hours prior to kickoff with Greg Sharpe hosting the coverage. Included in Countdown to Kickoff will be the exclusive pre-game interview with Head Coach Scott Frost.

Sharpe will handle the post-game interview with Coach Frost, while Coody will conduct the post-game locker room interviews with Nebraska players. Approximately, two hours following the completion of the game, Matt Coatney and Jay Foreman will host Big Red Reaction from the Huskers Radio Network studio in East Stadium. Big Red Reaction will conclude the 11-hour broadcast on the Huskers Radio Network.

Huskers Radio Network Streaming Options
Fans can hear the Huskers Radio Network around the world through various streaming options and Nebraska Athletics and its broadcast affiliates will continue to offer streaming at no cost to Husker fans. All broadcasts are streamed live on Huskers.com (huskers.com/listen) and the Huskers App. The Huskers App is available at huskers.com/mobile app and in the app store on your mobile device.

Nebraska Football on the Huskers Radio Network will not be streamed on the TuneIn radio platform this season. TuneIn has added college football to its subscription plan as part of their premium sports coverage and Nebraska has elected to keep radio coverage free for all listeners.

Huskers Radio Network Spanish Broadcast
All Nebraska football games, both home and away, will be available through a Spanish broadcast in 2021. Games can be heard on KKCD 105.9 FM/HD-2 in Omaha and on La Gran D 93.3 FM in Grand Island, as well as all Husker digital platforms. Enrique "Kike" Morales (play by play) and Oscar "Tico" Monterroso (analyst) will call the action this season. The games will primarily be called and produced remotely, with the broadcast team planning to call one Nebraska home game from Memorial Stadium.
