Below are the options they're looking for....

If you are interested in participating, please DM me. If you know of a business, or individual person, and have an in/know, please DM me.

$2,500 per year donations & $5,000 per year donations
. Whether it's an individual person, or a business, they're interested in all. The goal is to get 50 total at each donation level. IMO, 25 at each level is easily doable if word gets out (hint, hint tPB). Currently, there are some commitments & checks cut but they want to open it to everyone. This is a similar route Mark Manning has taken with wrestling, but a higher donation amount with lesser donors, and he's had major success. Baseball tweaked the amount to get more interest.

**Perks for donations are in the works** Some of the folks that donated for this current season had a tour from at least 1 of our coaches of Hawks field, AG Center, NU's training table and other parts of that area inside Memorial Stadium, and the staff spent time showing them scouting reports before games, a handful sat in the dugouts (right on the outskirts of it, but technically a part of it) during a game and was also at field level during BP. Hosting donors for a game in NU's AD suite is on the table, as is allowing donors on the field during BP before a game(s) (think MLB teams that do this), practice access, etc.

They're also in early discussions of a private line of Husker baseball apparel with 100% of the proceeds going to the baseball program, but that's for another day.

* Sorry I didn't bump the previous thread but I can't find it. If someone else finds it, feel free to bump it & this thread can be merged. I will save this as a bookmark on my laptop for future access.

That’s awesome! Glad to see you got it going somewhere. I think a lot of our sports could attract some money from the average fan doing things like this for a couple thousand - tours, meet & greets, exclusive Adidas gear.

For reference, LSU & Bama do it with their golf programs and have pretty sweet gear.

One day I’ll be able to assist

If my wife and I guess myself ever decide to stop going to school

Honest question. How far dues 375k go in baseball?

It's not just the NIL. The increase in scholarships AND $375K to distribute is a world of difference. Folks want a better bullpen, NIL. Folks don't want to lose a player, NIL. Folks don't want a repeat of 2022, then NIL.

$375K won't get us SEC, ACC or even B12 across-the-roster talent. It will keep us at the top of the B1G and pull some damn good quality players away from some teams that have next to nothing in NIL & "mid-majors"

For 2027, we are gonna have to hit on the recruiting class at a high level to replace guys. We lose Carey, Moyer, Buck, Overbeek, Stokes, (flip a coin) Sanderson, Ja Worthley, Jasa, Horn, Mannell, Clark. Some may say see ya to a couple of them, but it's still production over 3-4 years lost. (And Unger is also draft eligible).

$375K shouldn't require a plea on a message board. But, here we are...

So is this just a donation or actual NIL? Like will the player do a promo or ad for my business?

Both. Your choice as some businesses don't want player related activity (silent donors).

You can absolutely choose to have a player, or players, do a promo/ad for your business. And it's my understanding you can choose the player, but obviously they have to agree to the terms based on the NIL agreement ($ vs # of promos/ads requested) between you & them.

This is a true NIL deal, contract & all.

So we have no additional NIL for baseball outside of this grassroots effort? Honest question.

Very little, as of now.

This isn't just a grassroots effort with me. As you know, I've been working on this for almost 2 years. The final idea, which is this, was created after the baseball staff met with the wrestling staff to get all of their details. Baseball made a few adjustments in hopes of attracting more people/businesses. Dannen has signed off on it. The coaches are actively talking with Lincoln businesses, and a couple outside of the Capital City & have asked me to get the word out. Personally, I have donated every year and will again in August. Mine is a non-NIL-attached donation but that may change a year from now.

Wouldn’t it be better to provide everyone a contact directly to the University to support baseball vs dming you?

They can contact me in DM & I will give them which coach to contact with more info. I have no issues with this at all, and already have done it with 2 people that have reached out. But I'm not going to put it out publicly.

I can just see it now. Hey Coach ______, PonyBoy on The Platinum Board said you're handling NIL & donations. Yada, yada, yada.

Seriously, I'm cool with sharing the direct contact & info in DM.

I know you mentioned in the past that some of the MLB guys have tried to get involved in raising money, is this separate from that?

The old MLB guys (retired) will not participate in NIL/private donation directly for players. They're participating in facility improvements, but also have their hands in some other things happening in Lincoln for the general youth community. A few of the current MLB/MiLB guys are participating from a private donation standpoint.
