How are we this bad at basketball?

Holy fucking shit. What am I watching? Why am I watching? Just letting Maryland thunder dunk on us and getting bitched.
Yep! They're a bunch of pussies! You learn it while being a young man in wrestling. It sorts itself out but recruiting bball hasn't figured it out in nebraska. These coaches are flunkies and suck ass! Go fuck yourself Hoiberg and all of your followers.

Fraud Hoiberg

I’m sure Bryce Mcgowens regrets every second of his decision to come to this dumpster fire
It’s kind of funny Scott Fraudst fits too. It’s funny we were all pumping our chests out as Husker fans with the football and basketball hires and they have turned out to be worse than we ever thought possible.

For me the biggest difference between the football and basketball situations is in football we are generally losing to less talented teams and in basketball we are generally losing to more talented teams. Hoiberg's 4 Out or 5 Out Offense should work as other programs like Duke, Purdue, Crayton, Kansas..... run something similar.

I think Fred's biggest mistake is not having been able to land a quality Big Man. Walker is hard worker but doesn't have the size to control the lane on defense or the range to stretch the floor on bigger Post Players. Our Center needs to either be a Shot Blocker/Rebounder on Defense or an Outside Offensive Threat on Offense. We don't have anyone in the middle to lock down things on defense or open things up on offense. Still so pissed that the fucking World Herald ran that article bashing Fred on developing Centers ultimately costing us Silent Commit Center Sanago who has been a beast at Center for U Conn. We need some big athletic players to compete in the B1G. The last couple years the B1G has been stacked with some of the biggest and best Centers in College Basketball.

Much like Frost's Offense being dependent on a QB who can think quickly Hoiberg's schemes rely on a Center who can cause mismatches on Offense opening up lanes for Dribble Drive or 3 Pt Shots. The team this year just doesn't seem to be well thought out talentwise. Too many players who are dependent on others to get them open looks. And Lat is the softest 6-9 player I have ever seen, but we really don't have any other options at the 4/5. Andre doesn't appear to be the short term answer either as he is so limited offensively plus has bad hands & feet. He needs more time to develop.

Before this year I had more faith in Fred, but after this year I would go with Frost. Fred is getting his ass kicked by everyone and he will overhaul the roster again next year and suck again. If Frost can fix special teams and the new offensive staff-qb is an improvement we are atleast going bowling. I don’t see Frost winning many games of significance, but I honestly see no hope with Fred at this point.

I kinda have a feeling in a year or two we’re gonna hear some stories about some of the things that are currently going on within the program. I’m guessing it won’t make some of us very happy. I don’t know what the disconnect is, but something weird is going on.

The problems with this team start on the defensive end. The effort and defensive fundamentals are atrocious, and that spills over into rebounding because they are so late in rotations, they are unable to box anyone out. The defensive efficiency according to Kenpom is worst of any P5 team.

The offense has problems...namely ball movement and shot selection, but by and large we score enough points that we should be in a position to win a lot more games (even with the inevitable several times a game).

Bottom line: This team doesn't play hard, and that is something you fix in year 1. That is a foundational problem. The roster has been a Chinese Fire Drill year after year, and with the style of play Fred prefers, no amount of transfers will ever fix that.

come on guys, he just needs to revamp his staff and hit the portal and we can talk tourney next year. This is a harder turnaround than any of us realized including the coaching staff. We gambled on some guys early in an effort to "win now" and we missed. Hoiberg is building for the future and trying to establish a culture.
