Starting a new job and it's going to be mostly working from home. I've only ever worked in an office and with the exception of working from home for a few weeks last summer because of Covid, I've always been in the office. Going to need a desk, couple monitors, keyboard, and any other generous tips and tricks you fuckers can offer that will grease the wheels and make the adjustment a little easier would be greatly appreciated.

Having a good dog sleep by your feet all day is helpful for the morale. Makes you feel wanted, important and puts a smile on your face from time to time.

Oh yea, my pup will be right there the whole time. Only thing I'm worried about is that she literally wants to play fetch 24/7, so much so that we have to hide her toys from time to time. The cat will also be around constantly I'm sure.

Buy extra beer. I have been drinking too much since working from home

Imagine what your regular office has in it.
Then get those things and put them somewhere in your house.

Edit - Pro tip - make sure to reposition your cam when you masturbate. Especially during meetings.

Try to do everything over the phone. Just because God created zoom doesn't mean you have to see someone's face in every fucking conversation

Monitor setup depends on what you do and need to see. When I was coding and writing a lot, I had three monitors with the center one in portrait and the two sides in landscape. Since I don't do as much coding or writing these days, I prefer one really large monitor, but might suggest a second smaller one to keep the platinum board open all the time.

I'd also suggest a height adjustable desk if possible so you can stand or sit, depending on your needs. And also adjust the position of your keyboard. Standing is good sometimes, but I'm standing right now so if I come off like a dipshit you can ignore this suggestion.

All of the suggestions about masturbation arrangements are too low brow for me. Just kidding.

Height adjustable desk is a great idea. Footrest ain't a bad idea.

Go for a walk either during lunch or immediately after work. It’s a nice little break that helps you separate work life from home life

Do whatever you can to make it a comfortable homey place. I’ve worked from home for over two years and it’s pretty easy to get distracted.

Definitely get a nice executive rolling chair that has a full cushioned back on it. I went the cheaper option of just a standard office chair with the half back on it and that is the only thing I regret about my setup so far
This is the hardest part of working from home.
We were supplied Herman Miller chairs at the office - SUPER NICE.
My home office has an off-brand Office Depot knock-off, and it is definitely the weak point in my home station.
