One of the national podcasts indicates this school doesn’t have money so rely on hiring coaches who are still getting paid by other schools, and will recycle them if not extremely successful.

Herman is a good coach. IDK if he's that much of a disaster personally (ie - the "Vodka Tom" rumors) but he wins consistently and puts together a great offense.

I bet he's there about 3 seasons and upgrades to a P5 job.

Probably, but he NEEDED a stepping stone HC position to make himself relevant again. Best of luck to him.

Interesting that he reportedly turned down UAB and took this job. UAB seems like it's got more to offer.

If I were cynical, I would say that being near Miami & cocaine availability may have been a selling point.

Hopefully TH has his act cleaned up, though.

That's what I've heard.

He was a big time florida recruiter when he was at OSU and ISU, so it makes a bit more sense. Huge difference walking into an AL HS and FL HS

Always thought Herman was a sneaky, under the radar hire. Obviously his rep has cost him but I wouldn't be surprised to see him take the path of Lane Kiffin and have a big job in 2-3 years.
