Hello Stone Saunders

Just get a transfer next year.
I don't think it's a good long term strategy to go 3+ years between high school qb recruits and patch in those gaps with transfers. And you can't get a decent transfer QB without virtually guaranteeing playing time, so it doesn't do much at all for depth.
I'm hoping Rhule has a decent back up plan - he should since it was pretty obvious things were trending the wrong way with DR for the last two months.

Any QB that we sign now will not help. Depth is more than just a body. Get Saunders for 2025, skip 2024.

After the season evaluate the QB room and from the transfer portal:

1. sign nobody if HH and Purdy have developed enough to be a future starter and SIms is returning
2. sign a 2nd or 3rd year QB as a backup if HH and Purdy haven't progressed enough to be comfortable with and Sims is returning
3. sign a 4th or 5th year QB as a starter if HH and Purdy haven't progressed enough and Sims isn't returning

All better options than signing what is left available in the 2024 class. Signing a good HS QB usually takes more than a year of recruiting work.
