Heading to Jamaica in 16 days...

No experience there, but talked with a few people about it when deciding on a honeymoon spot since that was where they went for theirs. They loved the resort, but didn’t like that on the beach there were a lot of people bugging them with their wares…

Pray for my children as I may not come back from the islands.

Staying in Sandals Ochi Rios...anbyody have any experience with that resort?
Wife and I went their 2 years ago for our honeymoon. We loved our experience. Be sure to grab multiple multiple beers for the car ride to the resort. It takes about 1 hour 45 mins to get there. You do stop at a local bar about half way there as well.
Once you get there, I would recommend getting reservations for the nicer restaurants because they fill up fast. The sea side restaurant is nice but thought they had smaller portions. The sushi restaurant and southern restaurant were good. Make sure to try the jerk chicken too.
As for drinks, I got tired of drinking my usual drinks so ask the bartenders what their favorite drink is, everyone I tried was good. The dirty banana was probably our favorite. Also, try an espresso martini. Take a shot of espresso to the bar and they'll make it. Caution as the drinks are strong but you can't taste the alcohol.
We went golfing off the resort but it's still Sandals property. The green fees are free and you just have to rent clubs which isn't too much. I think we had to pay for a caddy as well and we tipped him cuz he was fun. The catamaran to dunns river falls was a good time. Be prepared to drink on the catamaran because the crew is a lot of fun and the rum punch is damn good. All in all it was a damn good time! Enjoy!

Jamaican advice: stay out of the garrisons, don't try to smoke like they do (this also applies to drinking with Russians) and Peter Tosh is a god don't ever even think a bad thought about him.
