Went to the game last night, and I was wondering how things would go with adding alcohol sales to the mix. Also, a co-workers son used to sell Val's or Runza's at the game, but he wasn't allowed to this year. I wasn't sure if it was due to him still being in high school, alcohol sales, or them just getting rid of it completely. I did see a Val's vendor, but just one for the entire game on the West Stadium. Someone also mentioned they just made them hourly now and aren't paying them per slice sold, but unsure if that's true.

My son wanted popcorn, twizzlers, and a Gatorade so we waited in about a 10-15 minute line. Didn't think it was horrible for before the game, but of course we picked a stand that didn't have Twizzlers so he got popcorn and Gatorade. 2nd Quarter he needed to go to the bathroom so figured would get some then, waited another 10-15 minutes, seemed pretty long for during the game. They did have a "self-serve" beer section that I think they should just house all the beer at. That line went way quicker than the general concession line, and it would shorten the food/regular concession lines. The regular lines were blocking restroom entries as well as tunnels to get to seat sections.

Wasn't sure if people had better or worse experiences. I also think not being able to re-enter kept the stadium feeling pretty full. But if I go without my son sometime I'm just bringing shooters and not dealing with those lines.

My brother went to the concessions either late first quarter or early second quarter, waited in line 30 minutes, and they were basically out of food at that point. He was able to get two slices of pizza for his kids but that was it

I saw one runza girl walking around the stands and we bought two runzas from her and that was all she had. That was first or second quarter and we never saw her again

Lines in North Stadium looked bad so I avoided it.

It was easier to get to my seats before the game because everyone was in the concession lines.

We had a Runza hawker come by but that was the only one I saw all night. Was hoping for water but ended up going down to the concourse and found a beer rolling cart with water.

Other random feedback:

-Tunnel Walk is getting too long... they do a highlight situation that drags on and then they get into Sirius takes about 3 or 4 minutes just for them to get on the field

-I absolutely love when opposing teams wait to take the field until the home team runs out, low key great mind game because gets the fans to boo as their own team is coming out and quiets the place a bit. Reminds me of when student sections would do the "left, right, left, right" every game I fouled out and I would wait to sit down until their guy shot his free throw so they yelled "SIT DOWN" as their guy tried shooting his free throw.

-Compton does a good job at hyping the crowd up, I know he's not for everyone

-Light show was pretty good this year. Rhule basically just had the guys watch it and enjoy it, even Akron just turned around and looked since they were down 60.

-I think I have figured out why unless it's a big opponent it is lukewarm sometimes in Memorial, I think our fans still aren't sure what we are. If it's a Coach Prime led Colorado or a big game where we are undefeated and they need our help, our environment is as loud as it gets.

-I mocked people hyping up Genatone as a RB but have to give him props on special teams, if you can watch him on kickoffs he's awesome. He's the fastest by far. Not sure if his job is to torpedo and make the guy choose a direction, but if he could breakdown a bit instead of flying and diving he will be pretty tough on there. Either way, fun to watch.

-Being at the game to see demeanor on the sidelines from guys lets you know exactly who won't be playing this year and who will.

Wondering if more food was purchased early due to alcohol consumption. Also some of those people that would leave and reenter were maybe grabbing food outside. Just a thought
Good point, I think probably the latter? People would leave and hit up their tailgate, Champions Club, or even the vendors outside probably made more food necessary.

I think you’re right about the latter. I know myself, if I’m drinking, I’m snacking more. If the concession people didn’t take that into consideration and increase the supply for the drinkers and people not leaving, they underestimated both effects

The thing is I don't think they ran out of beer, but they ran out of food. So maybe just a case of drunk-eating? From my stance, it was much more enjoyable to be able to get out of the stadium for a bit at the half since I'm not a band guy. But I completely understand trying to keep everyone in there and get more money from them.

I have a feeling the money they are making each gameday is going to skyrocket when you combine alcohol sales and not letting people leave.

Can you expand on this a bit? See anything specific?
So it can be something as simple as a guy like Christian Jones just standing on the 50 the whole game not really involved in any defensive huddles for gameplan changes. Even though I'd like him to be involved in those to further football knowledge, I don't read too much into it with a guy redshirting, it's more just "ok they have a plan for that guy already and he's probably not a part of 2025." Again, don't read too much into that one just giving an example of how you can tell plans for the season for a guy.

But the one it matters with I noticed was Pritchett. While he wasn't playing/starting, the entire OL would all be together in the same spot kind of in an area where Coach Raiola could get to them as he watched from behind the play. I can't remember if it was when we got across the 50 in Q1 or at the quarter change, but the entire OL flipped where they were on the 30 yard line of one side and they all jogged to the other 30 yard line. Pritchett just slow walked falling further and further behind, eventually getting over to those guys but still not involved with them trying to keep energy up.

Conversely, you have dudes that are doing everything they can to show the coaches they are involved, hyped up, motivated, etc. Hoffken, Wacker, and other guys I'm doing a disservice to not calling them by name are engaged.

I got in line for Herbies Burgers at 530 and left at 600. The crew was super disorganized and rude. They didn't realize what was supposed to be offered. I had to point out 4 times that the menu says it includes etc. They were like "Oh I guess".

I asked for a diet Pepsi... They gave me a regular Pepsi. I was not happy.

If you're gonna steal $21 from people at least be prepared and have QC. Show some damn manners dealing with people.
