Getting around an iPad activation lock

Does anyone know how to get around an activation lock on an iPad? We bought 25 iPads from a previous FedEx owner, and he purchased one of these iPads from a different FedEx owner before him. So I have no way to contact the original owner to get the apple ID and password

From experience trying to unlock a phone belonging to my son, with a known Apple ID, it’s impossible to reset through Apple without the passcode/Apple ID password.

Forgot his passcode and had previously changed his Apple ID password and forgot it. I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how to unlock with no success. Apple definitely needs to build in a system to make the process easier/possible.

He wasn’t on my favorite person list for a while.

I tried that. Unless you're the original owner with the receipt, your SOL. I handed him the iPad and told him to recycle it.

I bought one from the pawn shop and they did it for me. That was a while ago though.

I forget why the feds wanted apple to give them a skeleton key for all devices for endless unconstitutional searches, but maybe start with emailing your congressman
