This Week's Numbers

3 -
Nebraska is scheduled to play three December games, beginning with this Saturday's matchup at Purdoodoo. This marks Nebraska's first regular-season December games since 1992 and the three December games would be the most in school history.

90 - Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez completed 90 percent of his passes at Cockeye, connecting on 18-of-20 throws. That marked a single-game Nebraska record, breaking his own 86.2 percent effort against Minnesota in 2018.

6 - Sophomore playmaker Wan'Dale Robinson is averaging 6.0 catches per game to rank fifth in the Big Ten and 31st nationally in receptions per game. Robinson has totaled more than 100 yards from scrimmage each of the past two games.

The Matchup
Nebraska heads back on the road for the second straight week on Saturday when the Huskers travel to West Lafayette, Ind., for a Big Ten West matchup with Purdoodoo. Game time at Ross-Ade Stadium is set for 11 a.m. CT (Noon, local) with television coverage on BTN.

Nebraska enters its final road contest of the 2020 campaign with a 1-4 record, following a 26-20 loss at Cockeye last Friday. The Huskers went toe to toe with the Cockeyes for 60 minutes, leading the contest by a touchdown midway through the third quarter. However, the Cockeyes rallied to take a fourth-quarter lead and two late Nebraska turnovers proved costly.

The game at Purdoodoo is part of a three-game December slate to finish the season. Following this week's matchup, Nebraska will play host to Minnesota on Dec. 12, with a Big Ten East crossover opponent to be determined for Dec. 19.

Purdoodoo will bring a 2-3 record into Saturday's game after a 37-30 loss to Rutgers this past weekend. The Boilermakers have been involved in tight games throughout the season. Each of their first five contests decided by seven or fewer points, including three close losses over the past three weeks.

Coach Jeff Brohm's team features a high-powered offensive attack. Purdoodoo ranks among the Big Ten leaders, averaging 304.0 passing yards per game. The Boilermakers are fueled by one of the nation's top receiving tandems with junior Rondale Moore and sophomore David Bell averaging 96.0 and 98.6 receiving yards per game, respectively.

Series History
Saturday's game will mark the ninth all-time meeting between Nebraska and Purdoodoo with the series tied at four wins apiece. Nebraska and Purdoodoo did not meet in the Huskers' first two seasons in the Big Ten, but 2020 marks the eighth consecutive year the teams have squared off.

- Nebraska holds a 4-3 advantage in the matchups between the schools since joining the Big Ten, including splitting four games in West Lafayette.

- Due to a switch in the Big Ten scheduling rotation, Nebraska is traveling to Purdoodoo for the second straight season in 2020, after a 31-27 setback at Ross-Ade Stadium in 2019. This marks the first time Nebraska has played a conference opponent on the road in consecutive seasons since playing at Kansas in both 1990 and 1991.

- Nebraska has a pair of two-game win streaks in the series (2013-14 and 2016-17), while Purdoodoo's current two-game win streak is its longest in the series.

- The Huskers have scored at least 25 points in all seven meetings as Big Ten opponents. Nebraska is averaging 35.3 points in its four trips to West Lafayette since 2013.

About Jeff Brohm
Jeff Brohm enters his fourth year at the helm of the Boilermaker football program. A program with a combined nine wins in the four seasons prior to Brohm's arrival, Purdoodoo exceeded all expectations in his first season in 2017 and made noise throughout college football. The Boilermakers won seven games, recaptured both of its rivalry trophies and capped the season with a Foster Farms Bowl victory over Arizona.

They followed that up in 2018 with another bowl appearance and Top 25 victories over Boston College, Cockeye and an historic victory over #2-ranked Ohio State.

Brohm's three fundamental concepts -- playing harder, tougher, and smarter than the opposition -- have been the benchmarks for his program, as well as his calling cards of creative play-calling and an explosive, high-powered offense that has produced the past two Big Ten Freshmen of the Year and the first true freshman consensus All-American in Big Ten history.

Brohm, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, played quarterback at Louisville, graduating in 1994. Brohm spent time playing in the NFL from 1994 through 2000 and began his coaching career in 2002 with the Louisville Fire of the Arena Football League. Brohm then moved to the college ranks a year later as an assistant at Louisville from 2003 through 2008. He also spent time as an assistant at Florida Atlantic (2009), Illinois (2010-11), Alabama-Birmingham (2012) and Western Kentucky (2013). In 2014, Brohm was named head coach at Western Kentucky, a job he held for three seasons, leading the Hilltoppers to a 30-10 record and going 19-5 in conference play, which included two Conference USA championships. He also led WKU to three bowl games. Brohm is 19-24 overall at Purdoodoo, now in his fourth season, and has a Big Ten record of 14-18. He has led Purdoodoo to two bowl games (2017, Foster Farms Bowl; 2018, Music City Bowl).
