So turns out one of my good buddies is close friends with the Davis's. We were tipping a few cold ones last night and he told me about how the Davis Family was floored that Coach Frost never once reached out to congratulate them after they were drafted. Actually communication from Frost after their season was over basically disappeared. They really felt like Frost didn't give a shit about them as players or people. Is this an isolated incident because they were Riley players or is our staff treating other players like this too? Sucks to have 2 former Neb players in the NFL who now feel like Nebraska basically gave them the Middle Finger. Can't be pissing off former players, especially successful ones who are from the KC area. Don't want to poison that well for recruiting. GBR

It’s a bad look for sure but per many sources, the Davis bros said the right things in front of the camera but behind the scenes were not what most would consider good teammates or healthy for the program.
He should have still been an adult about it and offered up his congratulations. Overlooking past transgressions and trying to mend fences is part of being a good leader.

Exactly. One thing that irritates me is how many times I’ve heard stories like this about frost. I get not everybody is going to buy in but wither Frost likes it or not when took over the guys in the program became “his guys”.

I remember listening to urban Meyer talk about that when he took over at OSU. Reporter asked him what it was going to be like when he got ‘his guys’ in there. His response was short and savy...something like ‘these are my guys.’

Then again, my Nsider bud told me awhile back Urban Meyer reached out to frost when he was out of coaching and wanted help in the off-season, just give some help advice, check out the program, etc. Frost turned it down. I mean....that makes sense. To many weird stories for me over the past 3 or 4 years.

I agree at times it seems like he is just not getting the big picture. Doesn't have the mentality of someone who is a successful leader and not afraid of outside help or being open minded enough to consider change when things aren't working properly. How can you turn down any advice from a top level coach like Urban Meyer. Like him or not he ahs been one of the most successful and knows how to get a team to play like a well coached team. I cringed during his introductory press conferences where he almost bashed on the returning players as that is not how you get Buy In. Even when I took over a business that was struggling I still made sure to make the current Employees feel important and wanted. After working with them I would decide who I wanted to keep, fire or try to train to see if they were worth keeping.

My buddy said the Davis brothers were really hurt that Scott didn't at least take the time to call them to say congrats. I was taught to never burn a bridge in the business world, as you never know what will come around in the future. Coach needed to be the bigger man and at least congratulate them because that was a huge moment in their lives.

You can’t be the smartest person in the room if you invite smarter people to the party.

frost is a fucking dipshit. This is known

I’m a believer in there being 2 sides to every story. There was a rumor back in 2019 that the week of the Wisconsin game, being that it’s a big game for Nebraska each year, that one of the twins basically took themselves out during the week. Can’t remember all the context but it was something like he somewhat gave up on the team in the middle of the week.

me personally I always felt the Riley guys were soft as shit and never really thought they would mesh well with Frost. Seems that’s confirmed the more stories that come out

If true I get the sense Frost is thought of highly by Urban and he sees him having a lot of potential.

I would've heard him out though. Could do a lot worse for a mentor iyam.
